seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

Slipped 3 pucks and sliconed them into a stack inside my coils for some temporary bump stops.

Prepped for a wheelin' trip tomorrow - Crag Lake near Calabogie, ON. Last trip out until the wife has our third - due Aug. 25.
Steep Climb - your front end try to unload?

Oh and pray my rear breaks down with break cleaner and adjusted them
Sold it.

See ya, Red!
Sad, but yet somewhere there's a very happy new XJ owner.

Dear God, this may seem ironic since usually I'm praying things don't break down,

Digging, and drums
Breaks look nice, what kind of paint did you use?

I'm thinking about Powder Coating my drums and Calipers (blue maybe)
Gettin pretty excited about having my motor back in the jeep this hopefully in the coming week or two. Havent driven my jeep in almost a year!!!!!
I looked at is sitting in the garage as I backed out. I like the 40+mpg of the TDI over the 9ish.
Traded the 35x12.5r17 goodyear mt/r's for a brand new set of 32x11.50r15 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's.... sad to be out of a 35.. but with gas going back to 3.79 ish here in my town once again ;/ its probably for the better.. might even start driving the wife's jeep to work. 21.5mpg's down the highway.. oh well.
Can I get some help?
I need to know what axle is in my jeep:( I think its a 44 do to it being a 87' with a metal fill plug and it has 10 bolts to hold the cover on. Does that sound like a 44?

It could be a D44, but a pic would confirm it. If you don't have enough posts here, use a Photobucket account and link it.

Comparison pics for you:
XJ D44:

YJ D35, but the cover will be the same:

Both of those axles have 10 bolt covers, and the earlier D35 used a metal bung fill plug as well, so don't rely solely on those cues.

I drove it to the coast yesterday and drove out on the beach

Yeah there is - I've already seen "ecstatic new owner" pics. It's already gotten plenty of carwash TLC. :highfive:

Better then nothing and doesn't look to bad. Every time I'm in lows or tractor supply, I find myself wondering hey what can I use this for or what can I turn that into or I could so use that for (x) on the Jeep. So good job thinking out side the box on the fan. Thumbs up.
