seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

picture a few posts down.

got a Warn VR8000 with synthetic line for it!
Why not use some spray foam insulation? That would seal it pretty well Id think. Thats my plan for mine when I get around to it.
You should cut and fold that rear pinch seam. It will rub and cut the tread when you stuff just like the fender can.

I gave mine a few relief cuts and 2 lb. sledged it over.
I'm starting into the major overhaul tonight.
-drop hitch and gastank skid and tank itself
-frame repair where gas hoses pass thru
-install shackle relo brackets
-install new UCA
-install RRO drop brackets modified to hold..
-fab and install new cross member
-install lift shackles
-install new brake softlines and bleed
-install new front coils
-install rear shackles
-Alignment
-raise rear lower shock mounts
-break off rear bar pin bolts
-weld in new BPE

Off until Wednesday - it's going to be a very long, very hot weekend.

Painted arms look awesome! My xj is also white so I'll probably steal your idea because mine are getting to the point where they look a little ratty and this would help make it stand out a little more. I'm not kidding when I say I stopped to get gas the other day and My Jeep was one of three white xj's in the parking lot. Looked liked a convention!

Those look pretty cool. I never thought of painting them.
Found out why my rear brake was squealing and locking at low speeds. Had a busted shoe in the drum.
Taking the jeep to the shop tomorrow. Until then happy America day.

It took a few days to boot up the 'ol laptop, but I feel this is the only appropriate response.

Actually turned out pretty nice.

Filled up the gas tank, An drove my parents to Antelope Island @ The Great Salt Lake so they could do some site seeing.

yep... that will do it.

I figured out that one of the heims in the 7100's was loose, got bound up somehow.

drove over to bilstein and picked up a a spare set, swapped out the loose one.

then I decided to use the polyperformance upper mounts I bought as opposed to the ones I made because I liked the spacing on the poly mounts better, and it turns out the things are too wide. so I have to go over to a steel place and find piece of DOM I can use to make wider spacers for the heims.

I also found out that bilstein has a 6 week wait time to re-valve my shocks

still trying to figure out what to do about my steering box.

Pipe wrap? What exactly is that? I am trimming mine soon
Worked late in the Man Cave.

Removed Hitch - nutserts are FUBAR, plus sheared off a 10.9 bolt. Must have been made in China.
Removed Front Skid
Plated rear section of frame rail
Relocated E-brake bracket 3" back

Finishing my coffee, then starting today's list:

-replace rear soft line w. Dakota for 4" extra slack
-removing rear shocks
-welding in BPE - not even going to try and salvage the upper shock mounts as is
-GO JEEP modding the lower shock mount
-install new rear shocks
-removing rear shackles
-welding in plate and shackle relocation brackets
-installing new lift shackle
-3" more height for a total of ~5"

Tomorrow is also fairly ambitious - front drop brackets and other crap including a new HD crossmember integrated into the RRO beef-in-ators. I know many run Rusty's drop brackets, but these suckers built very well and super strong.
I'm slightly ahead of schedule and hopeful to be ready to have tires bolted on by Sunday night for a driveway alignment and a cautious tour evaluate the Rugsucka Fab Custom Scampy Lift.

Bout to go pick up her new radiator that I ordered
Put my rear tube bumper up on craigslist. I don't feel like modifying the mounts for it. If I'm going to bust out the grinder and welder I might as well start from scratch.

sat under it for a good while debating if I should stretch it or not. what do you all think?
Oh anyone have any experience with eaton e lockers? Thinking about getting one for the 8.8.
stretch it... because its sexy and you know it! If you do, let me know how you come up with shock mounts please sir... I am debating on how I am going to relocate mine.

You could always cage it and run the shocks into the cab

its sexy as hell! I think i just found brackets that I will use for the stretch and since I have that tube bender I was planning on making shock hoops into the inner fender after the comp cut. Oh and I think I might order a fuel cell tonight because I really dont want to cut a big hole in floor to move a big ugly tank in my trunk.
