Finished installing the Engine an Tranny. I had bought a 2wd 97 XJ with a blown engine. While replacing the engine, I am installing a 4wd tranny an 231 TCase.

Just waiting for the new radiator an tranny lines as they were in need of help.

Bought my first jeep and it's also my first VEHICLE! 87 xj for $500
Fixed that for you.

Please don't call your Jeep a car. It will get you banned:nono: and makes your jeep unhappy. Then it will start to cry and leave spots on the driveway.

Time to do a full fluid swap and greasing. While you're under there, give a tug on all of the steering and suspension and evaluate the rust situation too.
Good luck with your Jeep, and welcome to the family.

I will get pics but she's not to bad for the year and the amount of rust is amazingly low  she's leaving spots though time to take a look I think that it. As for the spots I think I have a leaky power steering Pump.

ziptied it to the AC stuff.
I might move mine there, thanks for the picture.

You can also locate it by the blower motor - I used a self tapper from inside the wheel well to secure it and filed the point in the engine bay
I would like to put it there but a have a cluster of emissions stuff in that corner.

Pricing out what it's going to cost me to replace my cylinder head in the next couple weeks. Not as terrible as I was expecting for a new head and gaskets. Got it all in a cart from autozone along with trans pan gasket and hood release cable that I need I'm looking at around $575. On the plus side I'll get $100 back on the core from the old head and a $125 Autozone card for ordering online. I'd been debating pulling the valve cover to clean and paint it so on the plus side this gives me an excuse to do so.

I'm not sure I would buy a head from Autozone, it's affordable for a reason, hopefully it will work out for you though.

What's the difference between a head from Autozone and a 0331 from the factory? Looked like he got a pretty good deal on his purchase to me. Maybe it's not the best money can buy - but it'll prob get the job done. Just sayin.........

It's been the same price and brands everywhere I've looked. Napa, AZ, O'reilly's, Advanced, Jegs, Summit, RockAuto, ect. Only reason I'm going with Autozone is the free $125 card.
