Well he threw a rod right through his pan about 30 min away from home... A stroker will be coming soon!
Lol yeah he was pretty bummed out and I jsut told him atleast it broke on the way home and not on the way there and I was like besides now we can build a stroker for it he just laughed.Well that's a great excuse to get one lol
Thats what im saying. You wheel the piss out of a mostly stock jeep and **** breaks. Deal with it.:laugh:
I find that very funny. Who's saying I'm gonna buy something I know nothing about?
You think i dont wheel the piss out of mine? You should see what my rockers and fenders look like. That's the thing, I've done all my jeep can do so the next step is either build it or get a better one. To me, my jeep isn't worth building and I think building this jeep would be a waste of time and money.
Like ive said, if i don't find exactly what I want I'm gonna start over with a clean slate and a nicer jeep.
what size rod end? no reason a 3/4" ruffstuff heim can't handle the loads necessary for a panhard... stainless steel too.This is what broke over the weekend, was wondering if it would be better to just put in a heavyer duty one or just replace the heim on there?
Edit: I know the tube on the trackbar is heavy-duty I just don't know about the heim it self

welcome to michiganI have never seen a rod end fail that way before.
lol...so glad I don't live in the salt belt....ive actually left steel unpainted on the bottom of my rig for weeks... even after 2 rainstorms, my entire steering, shock brackets, and CA skids were nothing more than surface rust.welcome to michigan
so that is what it is, a ruff stuff joint? it was put on there by the PO so i have no clue what kind it is...what size rod end? no reason a 3/4" ruffstuff heim can't handle the loads necessary for a panhard... stainless steel too.
looks like that one was not cared for, rusted and broke. I have never seen a rod end fail that way before.
Ya go to their website and order up a new one. They're cheapjeeplesjeeper said:so that is what it is, a ruff stuff joint? it was put on there by the PO so i have no clue what kind it is...
What was the damage on those if i may ask? i have those on my 2000 and they have successfully ruined my life... well not exactly but forced me to buy a new head for it since the motor that was in it had a whole in the block.Ordered new pre-cats. I've been getting a P0432 code for about a year now and just keep resetting it with my scan gauge. Its happening more often now and it won't pass emissions like that.
I'll post a write up if I end up replacing them myself. I can barely see them from under the jeep. Should be fun.
Damn you California emissions. :thumbdown::brickwall
On the plus side I spent the extra coin for the Magnaflow stainless ones. I don't want to have to replace them again in 2 years when the cheaper one rusts out.
