Put in a new seat belt and worked on my sliders. Then helped my buddy put his Nates4x4 bumper and wire his lights up.
That last part is the most important, but tie a string around the bolts on both ends of both the track bar and tie rod. Don't look at whether the bent metal lines up at some point but rather if the actual mount angles are parallel.VegasGT said:Draglink and tb are parallel and i have no bumpsteer i can detect.
Ok, will try that. I have no handling issues but I do like things to be right. I was just under the impression that the drop pitman was not really needed on a 4.5" lift. I can certainly understand the concept of the change in geometry though. Will have to take a look this afternoon. That last part is the most important, but tie a string around the bolts on both ends of both the track bar and tie rod. My drop is just 1", came with my RE kit.Yes for the future,I'm buying everything I have the money for pretty much. What are you running now with just a t cause drop?
Thanks I think I'll try and go with an xj DS like you to keep in "xj" ha just feel better doing it that way
So your on stock shafts?Wearingthin said:My drop is just 1", came with my RE kit.
You don't have to run the XJ front shaft. It was just to let you know that its an option to help broaden your search
Yea. You only replace the rear shaft if you use a SYE.So your on stock shafts?
Mmmm... Yummy.... How much?Wearingthin said:Yea. You only replace the rear shaft if you use a SYE.
The stock setup features its extension portion between the transfer case and the driveshaft. A TC drop does nothing to replace this.
A SYE replaces that 'slip' style yoke with a fixed yoke. This way, you can use a CV joint to connect to the transfer case, and move the extension portion to the shaft itself.
Here's a picture that shows what I'm talking about. See the bare metal portion on the bottom shaft? That's what slides into the TC. The top shaft has the extension in the middle of shaft, and you can see the CV style joint
ha for what?Mmmm... Yummy.... How much?
That drive shaft, looks like a nice one I need an sye kit soon...Wearingthin said:ha for what?
Good deal on a new sye!nateyz2000 said:That drive shaft, looks like a nice one I need an sye kit soon...
I just found that picture on google :laugh:That drive shaft, looks like a nice one I need an sye kit soon...
Now I am under the impression that a front ds off of an xj will work... If I get the sye kit, is this a true thing? Possible that it has to be lengthened?Empty_Pockets said:

front drive shaft off an XJ is the same type of shaft as an aftermarket one. It has enough length for even up to 6" of liftNow I am under the impression that a front ds off of an xj will work... If I get the sye kit, is this a true thing? Possible that it has to be lengthened?
So as far as the yoke and spline, is the front of transfer case interchangeable with rear? I have an extra xj for parts...Wearingthin said:front drive shaft off an XJ is the same type of shaft as an aftermarket one. It has enough length for even up to 6" of lift
the 1310 yoke is the sameSo as far as the yoke and spline, is the front of transfer case interchangeable with rear? I have an extra xj for parts...
