seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

picture a few posts down.

my 30" tires and 2" lift was delivered yesterday. i'll be working on it tuesday
dropped off my axles to be geared
Trimmed my fenders, finally. None of the write-ups mention how bad cutting and folding the rear fenders messes up your paint. Now looking into bedlining.. anyone ever done their entire XJ? Preferrably with some sort of colored bedliner?
I think Raptor Liner makes a clear bedlining, then you just shoot color over it.

Never seen a full XJ bedlined that I was particularly fond of. I'd maybe consider bedlining the quarter panels, I think that's a good, tough look.

In the past ive masked off a section about an inch wide all the way around the edge of the wheel opening and bedlined it. Looked nice and subtle too.

It seems like everyone and their mother does from the pinstriping down. And I feel like if I can find some colored bedliner it'd look ok.
The CEL mocks me again, relentlessly. I swear I can hear a sublte evil laugh in the mix of drivetrain whir. The eerie yellow-orange glow adds a melancholy aura to the cockpit as I drive on...yet it somehow softens the here then gone chatter of the worn NP231 shifter linkage bushings that now seem still close, but farther away dream-like, as I my journey is hampered by the stop and go conformity of society.

Scanned my ecm for the code.
I seem to have graduated from the P0455 large evap leak to the P0442 small evap leak since replacing a suspect piece of hose that forms the coupling from the gas tank line to the canister. Visually inspected all system components. Replaced the short hose coupler section from the solenoid to the canister where it dives down from the engine compartment. Couldn't separate the section from the tank over the rear axle, but it looks and feels ok.

Cleared the code: now we wait. I am considering options for a DIY smoke machine.
Put my CB in :) but I ran out of time, so now I have a CB with no power and no antenna :(

I hope this mounting position is sturdy enough.

How are the floors coming along? How did you cut the old rusty stuff out?

 Indeed, and it has a quick release mechanism so it can double as an anti-Jeepjacking device. Although I'm hoping to upgrade it to one that ejects high velocity lead projectiles in the near future...have to find a better mounting position for that one though.
Going out of town this week, and I'm going to use the money to do some upkeep. U joints, fluids, etc....

P.s. there have been mardi gras parades since Thursday.....meaning I've been drunk since Thursday.

I know that you guys miss me, but I will be back on my laptop soon enough.....

In the mean time...I'm watching you.
Took my XJ to the park for a walk.......

That was a joke, the 72 trim is way to big from my stock 4.0, maybe a 4.7 would be good for it. Thats going into my camaro, thanks for the link tho

They are coming along much better than I expected. I'll post pics in a bit, I used a grinder to cut them and I'll be picking up my sheet tomorrow morning to weld I can't wait because I found a new trail in my area that looks fun!
