seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

picture a few posts down.

Broke down the 93, stripped it, started swapping the lift over to the 98

Progress as of now

The main reason I did this is the price of fuel,1.40 per gal vs 3.88 per gal.If prices for both stay about the same I will recoup my expenses in 25-30 fill ups or about 6 months. If the price of gas goes down,I just run gas.yjmcb
Did you install that yourself?? How complicated was it?? Looks pretty involved, no??
still thinkin about going flarless.........
I am pretty sure that is the airbag control module safely mounted in the very middle of the vehicle. I think the older ones had it under the drivers seat.
thank you sir. this means it is a no touchey item..
Progress. This NOT fun at all.

If you do ill buy your flares possibly

Prob won't sell them.
I had thought about going flareless and bumper end capless. If I ever lose my right rear again, it won't go back on as I have already broke one of the studs on the bracket putting it back on last time.
I bed lines everything too it looks great but make sure you sand it good and I used herculiner from an auto-parts store I think it looks better than my last rhino job good luck oh and how do you clean your seats? And take off the auto shifter nob??
Fitting 3 hoops and 8 total pieces without scratching the interior panels and ripping the headliner is a nightmare.

I also had to re-tap a total of 36 bolt holes. (threads were dirty)

Also, tightening the Allen keys is horrible.

Thanks guys.

im going to use rustoleum spray on bed liner. i used it on my friends ford and another friends escalade and i like how it turned out very much.

auto shift knob just pulls off. some are harder than others. mine came off really easy. just get a good grip and pull up..

i just vacuum my seats but im sure you can get a carpet cleaner spray like ones that foams on and when it drys you vacuum it off. i use one that has oxy clean :)
oh, and are you just leaving it bare metal? I think I would have painted it before installing.
It's getting totally bashed up trying to shoe horn it in.

So Im going to try to totally install it tomorrow, and once I know it fits, I'll pull it back out and paint it.

I do like the tight and clean fit much better than were it not so tucked.
Well worth the shoehorn efforts.

Go get yourself a set of T handle allen wrenches. It will be MUCH nicer to use those instead of a regular allen.... speed up the process too....
