seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

picture a few posts down.

yea, took some pics as i was going along... i am working on the write up, but it is fairly straight forward... I had fun and i had never done anything like it b4 this... how did i do? and to hell with the rear passengers, thats why you have windows that can roll down
i look forward to reading it. it looks pretty clean. i will be attempting the same thing

my blinker has been giving me trouble for some time now. blinks a few times then stops. the light on the dash and the actual blinker light staying lit up. so im thinking its a blinker switch. anyone know how indepth it is to replace this? my dad is worried i have to take the steering column apart to get to it.

It's probably a flasher under the steering column. Mine did the same thing, didn't have to remove anything to replace it.
pulled out one of my leaves on each side, now it rides smoother, and is level, i might want to add a leaf from an s10, that way when its loaded up, it doesnt sag.

thanks ill give it a look.
i dont have a driveway

i may try this.

anyone know what this plug goes to? comes out fuse box next to battery

Does it plug into the dizzy?
may be buying a 76 fj40 tomorrow :/
idk why but my dad says land cruisers are alot tougher and well built than cj's...to each his own i guess.

on mine the flasher and relay for the signals were one unit as a relay under the hood in the fuse box

ive been having the same deal..replaced fuses, switch, flasher/relay and still doesnt work.

the switch is easy. 3 screws on the column cover, take the 2 torx screws out and disconnect the 2 electrical connections..then the same in reverse. took me like 5 minutes if even
After fighting with multiple random misfire codes for all six cylinder for four months, on a whim I bought some Prestone fuel system treatment and filled the tank. Started her up, CEL lit as usual, as I was pulling away from the pump, the light went out... love my Jeep.
Also replaced a faulty napa u-joint in my rear driveshaft the other day.

thank you, im going to order the flasher in the morning and see if that helps. just another thing to add to the list for this weekend.

flasher, drain/clean/refill diffs, change fluid in tranny, grease/anti-sieze slip yoke, drop and clean out fuel tank...should be fun
I drove the girlfriend in it for the first time... She said she liked the other jeep better.... Because I never drove it. I told her to late you'll learn to love it!
Wow... 10w30 gives it a lot more passing oomph that 10w40 did at 70mph.
Went to the car wash to vac it out since I still had glass shards in places where teh body shop didn't vac it out. Also cleaned up some of hte plastic on the dash and center console that was dirty.
19.564 mpg

ok so here's the pic of my jeep after recently installed lift. You guys think I should run a spacer to level out front a little? Trim fenders? Thoughts? Compliments?

let the rear leafs settle before you get the spacer.
