Did you have to change the doors or are the 97+ mirrors a direct fit on the old style doors? Im interested in doing this myself.

seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

Been reading this for a while but never posted so i think ill start. Just replaced my stock column to in my 88 manche to one from a 91 cherokee with tilt!
Changed inner shift boot, put the stick in and filled trans and t case with fluid... Not really exciting.
I got them both from quadratec, cheapest place i could find. The "inner boot" was an exact match, the one that bolts to the plate on the tunnel was from a tj, only one i could find anywhere. I have an AX-15 by the way.BlueBadger said:Where'd you get the boot?

No problem. You have to pull the shifter apart to replace it. Just unbolt it from the trans, and clamp the bottom in a vise. Then hit the "bell" for lack of better word, with a punch. Seriously, you can use chalk on the ground and logs of measurements to align your front end without having to go to a shop.
I posted here like once along time ago. Due to the hurricane i not been able to work on my MJ for over a week. But i hope to start progress back up today. My goal is to have it on the road by christmas!
