seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

picture a few posts down.

Changed the thermostat, flushed cooling system, new gaskets, new battery connectors, and fixed my exhaust

How did you do that to your xj? Lol
I finally got to drive her today after 2 days of being out of town :)
Sold a spare tire on CLs... to the Internet Marketing Director of Warn Industries! We had a nice conversation.
Thats one of those people you should become buddy buddy with to get some sweet discount lol
Ahh I guess. I just can't figure out what went wrong. And I also don't know what to do, if I should put in a short block, or a stroked short block or if I should just throw a new piston in.
If the walls are messed up just bore it out and make a stroker!! If they're still good you could take the cheaper option and just put in a new piston.
New fan clutch and oil change cause i finally got to 170K :highfive: No fan shroud anymore because Merlins Beard it was hard to get off and now that its bigger and the radiator is bigger so its not going back on lol.

I know the shroud is a PITA but won't the lack of a fan shroud decrease the cooling effect of the fan? The shroud forces air to be drawn in through the radiator instead of from the sides or top. Pulling air in from anywhere other than through the radiator would reduce fan efficiency, I would think.
I guess when I have the time I'll use some witchcraft to get it back on but idk how to do it without pulling everything and then somehow getting it all back on
I found a leak from the freeze plug behind the motor mount and headers and another coolant leak up front that looks like its running off a seal or gasket from the oil pan right behind the crankcase pulley that i dont know where its from. Monday looks like a jeep work day.
Did the electric fan mod that was super easy, drove her and put some gas in her
facebook comment on my pic from a kid who used to own a cherokee

HAHA thats great
I have the Goodyear Duratracs and they did just as well my buddies BFG KM2s. The Duratracs are quieter on the road too.
I've heard good things about the Duras but ive heard the KM2's suck in the mud... Never ran them though
Two from last night was cutting the jeep mounts to weld some new ones in.
Jeep mounts? lol
thats about what i did, since i don't have the front doors on all the time
Ok thats a sweet idea...
I really like that lol
