Yupp V6 2.8L, WITH Command-Trac!! I got more pictures if anybody is interested in it.
2.8L! That's the same engine that I have in my '89 Chevy Cavalier. The fuel injectors die all the time along with most of the sensors and I had to replace two of the valves after the timing chain broke. But it is a decent engine most of the time. There are thousands of them in the JY's. A little under powered for an XJ though IMO. The body of that one looks good though and a GM 3400 should fit right in there, 3800 with a little modifications.

Finished my switch panel...I managed to find a little time today, and got the rest of the switch panel completed. I am not 100% happy with the vinyl, it looks OK, but it is too shiny for my liking. Will likely paint it when I get around to doing it. I removed the hinged ashtray thing, and did a test fit of my plate...fit perfectly, but I needed to carve a little plastic away from each side at the top to clear the 2 outer switches. Ready to get fancy.
Dude! That switch panel is the shiznit! Very nice work!

True, but I still don't see a layer of paint on the diff cover heating it up badly enough to shorten the gear life. If it were really such a big deal, then all diff covers would be a thin metal, so that its easier for heat to escape quicker....yet everyone is throwing on the thickest toughest covers money can buy.

I'm still sticking with bull ****.
All you have to do is rip apart a bunch of old computers (I have about 5 in my attic you can have) and then take all the aluminum heat sinks out of them and JB weld them to the diff cover. VOILA! Instant cooling fins.

Finished building my JCR Offroad DIY bumper today.

Now I just need to paint it.

I also pulled the end caps off my front bumper for a better forward approach angle. And I'm taking it out for my first real wheeling trip with it this Sunday at Badlands, Attica Indiana.

How did this come together I'm thinking about the same bumper not that I have jeep money to blow :)
The bumper goes together pretty easy actually. It has been a blast to build, but it has taken me a lot of time. When I started I had never welded before so it probably took me a little longer than some because of the learning curve. I'm not sure that it is overall cheaper than a pre-assembled one, because of the welding wire, grinding supplies, etc. that I had to buy to get the job done. The small bars on the ends were interesting too because I had to cut the angles myself and then I had some filling to do with the welder since my cuts weren't exactly accurate. But it came out looking pretty good.

I would definitely recommend this bumper if you want a project to really put some time into. But, again, I wouldn't say that it is cheaper in the long run.

New fan clutch and oil change cause i finally got to 170K :highfive: No fan shroud anymore because Merlins Beard it was hard to get off and now that its bigger and the radiator is bigger so its not going back on lol.
I know the shroud is a PITA but won't the lack of a fan shroud decrease the cooling effect of the fan? The shroud forces air to be drawn in through the radiator instead of from the sides or top. Pulling air in from anywhere other than through the radiator would reduce fan efficiency, I would think.

I guess when I have the time I'll use some witchcraft to get it back on but idk how to do it without pulling everything and then somehow getting it all back on
 I know what you mean but I just wouldn't be surprised if you find that your fan runs more and the Jeep runs a little hotter. I could be wrong though, it happened once before...I'm not sure what it was that I was wrong about but I'm pretty sure it was insignificant.

BTW, I'm not sure witchcraft will help. I know burning some sage over your stuff might get rid of some negative energy left by a previous owner or ex-girlfriend, but I don't know of any candles or spells that will allow you to phase the shroud through all the obstacles you need to clear to put it back in without taking everything back apart. Good luck with that. :)

isnt that the antennae tucked into the visor? :D
 Indeed, and it has a quick release mechanism so it can double as an anti-Jeepjacking device. Although I'm hoping to upgrade it to one that ejects high velocity lead projectiles in the near future...have to find a better mounting position for that one though.
