Making progress! The old t/case is out along with the trashed adapter. The beancounters strike in the strangest places, check what they use instead of a bearing in the adapter. I laughed but then realized the plastic "bearing" did last over 175,000 with no issues.. Can also see where the mount surface on the old adapter is broken away.
How did the mounting surface get damaged?

How do I double like this? .308?

I think it was a combination of corrosion and the fact the holes in the adapter have about 3/4" of unused threads. The meat of the threaded holes was never used, only the flanges held the load. A couple years ago I was in a predicament out in the woods that had me getting pretty heavy with the throttle while in 4 low and heard a noise, I think that was when it first cracked. With the new bolts I am getting around 10-12mm more thread engagement per hole, that should help prevent it from happening again. I hope so because these adapters are pretty rare from what I found looking for the one I have.

That was my first thought, the shoulder wrecker, lol. I had to get rid of all my big bores due to a shoulder replacement.

@cDee63 , but it is not a better thing if you open a specific thread about the tCase swap you re doing?
In a specific thread informations can be collected together, but in this "general" thread they will be lost forever...

Jealous of those FXs. Not a single dealer in my state, but maybe that's a good thing considering their price.

Same here.
I have to order mine from Utah airguns. I rarely use them.
My go to for pest control is the Benjamin P-rod.
What is really sad is that the public range here was shut down for "Lead" contamination. For me it's not a huge issue, I just go to the range on base.
Problems of "living on a rock" in the middle of the Pacific.
I hope to put my 242 in soon, if you still need the input from a 247 when I yank it out it is yours.
If this offer is still good, LMK?
I sent you a message.

Have a Great Day!

I am going to do that, wanted to get the job done completely before starting the thread.

The swap is done! Just waiting on the rear driveshaft from Woods and the shifter from flea bay though the seller is effing me around. In the meantime I have to adjust the pinion angle of the rear to accommodate the double cardan. And yes, that nasty brake line is getting replaced next.

Changed my oil. Plan on changing out both the front and rear valve grommets. Oil is leaking out of both of them. Not terribly but it's making a bit of a mess.

Also loading up my spare tire in preparation for tomorrow. Driving halfway across the country! Well almost. Eastern Pennsylvania to Hotsprings, Arkansas.

Drove over this!

And stopped to check it out from the ground at Natural Bridge State Park in VA. Never heard of it before, but it was worth the 5 min detour. While driving over it, you'd never guess it was a "natural" Bridge.

It's huge though! You can see my wife on the path for scale.

Oh, and when I got back, I found a new Bronco Raptor parked next to me. I'm probably biased, but I don't think the WJ looks too shabby next to it.

Changed the oil and sent off a sample to Blackstone. If I get news of bearing material or coolant, the 2nd string Saturn will come off the bench for next month's roadtrip. While the Saturn aka "Gramps" would literally cut travel costs in half, I have really been looking forward to the Kentucky Adventure Tour, off grid camping, and other misc off road shenanigans.

Replaced/re-routed trans cooler lines. One was rubbing the passenger motor mount, and I wanted to replace the insulation wrap on them anyway.

Found an old bottle of Rain-X, dumped it in the WW reservoir. Figured it will do more good there than ultimately falling and spending another 10yrs behind my tool chest.

Cleaned TB with AMSOIL Power Foam and dumped a bottle of Techtron in the tank.

Sorted road side service kit. Added, some now proven better than Chinesium (thank you @Waterluvr !), Bussman fuses. Added spare ASD, fuel injector, and starter relays, a fresh pack of tire plugs, and 3' of 3/8" fuel line with a couple barbed unions and clamps to patch trans cooler lines. Also added some spare hose insulation and stainless steel tie wraps.

Sorted recovery kit. Cleaned/lubed come-a-long, coiled/tie wrapped recovery straps. Added a snatch block and tree saver.

I had planned to replace the water pump too as she has been dribbling from the weep hole, but whiskey.....

Well, I'm a dumbs**t. Unbeknownst to me, I had a big slack loop in my new cooler line that the serpentine belt made short work of. What a f***ing mess. Tranny fluid literally everywhere. Ugh. This may go down as one of the dumbest things I've done, at least on this vehicle. Check your work kids.
