Just ordered a new Tom Woods front drive shaft, should be here by next Weds. My original one has some play in the slip joint, sets up a nasty vibe trailing throttle from speed. When I get the new case in I will have a matching one for the rear in place as well.

my wife got me an early birthday present, ordered a new RTT from inspired overland. I have a trip planned to the PNW in June at least four nights with my cousin and some friends and our sons. Hopefully will get it broke in before then.

Where at?
My cousin lives a little south of Portland, we have not decided which trails we will hit yet. We may wind up on the east side of the mountains which would not technically be the PNW, We are looking at the coastline side also. We have a few months to get it planned out. I'm in Colorado so I am hoping for something with a little bit of technical skills required, but I do have one daily driver coming with us who is not going to be looking for body damage.

Atoto units are great!
well done! 👍
But…🤔, what is the third picture in your previous post (Post #52.003)?
Thanks! The new plastic frame came with the holes for the vents, but the vents themselves had to be removed from the factory frame.

So that was a close up of them plastic welded to the new frame.

So you have ti remove the “new” vents and modify and install the old ones?
why? They do not fit? 🤔

No, the new frame doesn't have vents at all. You have to remove the vents on the old frame and install on the new frame.

The new frame does come with plastic tabs that stick up and the vents have slots in them. You slide it onto of these plastic tabs and then melt and fold the tabs onto the vents to secure them.

Honestly I'm not sure why they don't just sell a new frame with vents already installed, but they don't.

An atoto carplay unit is my next project!

For now though, had to fix my door wiring harness. Although, I think I have to go back and melt those solder connectors a bit more. First time using these so not used to it.

About 3 weeks ago I bought a 2004 WJ Laredo from my sister for 1000 bucks, and I always wanted a 4x4. I've also never worked on cars besides oil changes. Over the past week I got some IRO 2" coils and Bilstein shocks and new bump stops, replaced the front diff fluid, replaced the rear driver's side axle shaft after a friend told me the seal on the old one was broken and shooting fluid everywhere. I bought some new rotors and break pads as well. The lighting on the coil perch photos are bad, but I'm wondering what I can do to fix the rust, as some of that perch has eroded.

Next, I plan to get some new tires. The oil pan is leaking, so I got a new seal, and then a rear main seal.

I've been excited to give it the TLC it needs and I can't wait to take it to some trails in the summer.

@EwestWJ how do you like the Atoto? Which model number is it? Is it pretty fast to connect to the wireless carplay?
It's an Ayoto A6G2A7PF. Honestly this is my first personal experience with carplay, but it seems pretty fast to me. My first impressions are that it's OK, but not terrific. For the price, I can't really complain.

I think some things should be easier to set up and configure when it comes to syncing the phone initially, but maybe it'll just take some getting used to (like anything else).

Took the old girl camping. Hadn't been to the property since December. Multiple heavy snow falls and wind storms since then had me busy felling, dragging, and chopping up dead fall. I never even got a chance to open the new awning. But the Heep and I had a nice night none the less....
