What’s silver knob on top of your port thing ?
The volume knob, its Bluetooth only.
That’s cool . My volume knob is on my iPhone . 😂
that’s what I have. a kenwood amp with blue tooth adapter

It also works with the volume on the phone. So I keep it at about 3/4 volume and adjust it on my phone, or can reach over and shut it off or turn it down manually. Pumps out lots of power to the new speakers i added.

is it high pitch slightly ? Some of my tunes come out high pitch slightly. It pumps out some tubes too and is crisp.

Idk haven't run it down the road yet. But my other one in my plow jeep is perfect.

Plugged my reverse light plug back on the t5. So those work again . LoL.
yanked out tye radiator and condenser out of a friends cj,still trying to seal up my passenger rear axle . All’s I replaced drivers window regulator . Feels fine for now, did it not too long and should get a return shipping label and not be charged. For one reason or another it didn’t want to roll up very much and the splines on the plastic crank handle were skipping.

Finished installing a Jeep TJ air-box in my CJ7. So tired of dealing with K&N and K&N type air filters, pulling out, washing, drying, oiling...I've also heard a number of stories about how they are not that good for cleaning, they just let a ton of air in. With the MOPAR fuel injection kit, I went with what they originally had, then used an aftermarket YJ air tube and K&N filter for a number of years. So done with that.

First tried a YJ Airbox, used from EBay - but could not get the box to fit. Those install on the drivers side, but it interfered with the CJ power steering pump and sat too high an also interfered with the hood. The TJ air box sites on the passenger side, so what the heck. Still pulls air from under the hood, but now I can get standard airfilter now. Also used to occasionally get harassed for the open k&N filter at the smog station. It's was CARB compliant, but some of the newer techs didn't know the regs for older vehicles.

I used the mounting bracket from the YJ air-box. Had to lower the starter solonoid, do some minor bending of the bracket mounting flanges and drill some new holes on the plate, but came out good. I kinda like the look better than the cone style K&N filter. I also had to install a second hose inlet on the tube for the charcoal cannister vent. Had an old crand case vent elbow and grommet, so just drilled and installed that.

Looks well done!
Drove it to work today. Runs much better with the timing set at 8*BTDC than 11*ATDC.
Discovered my backup lights quit working. I wonder when that happened?

  • Freshly repainted fender
  • New to me front springs and Crabtree shackles and mounts
  • Power distribution and relay box switching new Hella E codes
  • Aluminum valve cover (no leaks after 2 short drives 👍)
  • Buzzer installed to remind me to turn lights off
still have an oil change to do. I have some Marvel Mystery Oil in it that I want to circulate for a bit.

Yes, the locks are made by eberhard.
Look around for best prices.

There are a left and a right side. But they can be swapped around if you have any skill.

Not sure about all the extra metalwork. Maybe the holes for the mounting screws little too big??
Repairable.

The inside handles are just any 1/4" square shaft handle.

What could that metal even be?

So here is the tuff question, pro's and cons of the fiberglass doors. Obviously I need doors, and I live in the biggest salt spreader area on earth. Are you happy with yours? The doors are $500 and an 8 hr round trip to go get them or look at them.

And how do they shut, do you "slam" it or do you have to turn and latch handle?

They are called "Slam Latches" for a reason! 😁
I can just slam mine or push slowly or turn the handle. It works all the same. They are designed to be slammed.

Are these going on a CJ7 with an Acme hard or stock hard top? If you have an Acme top no problem, if you have a stock top? I don't know. they look the same as the OEM hard tops.
Check the fit. I had a CJ7 with those doors and an OEM CJ7 top but i never had them together to know if they fit. I just assumed they did.

Pros:
Never rust
Light weight
Never rust
Better view
Never rust.

Cons:
That [email protected] sliding window is small. Hard to get a large coke passed through.
All my windows stick in one place. Looks like the felt in the track can be relaced.
If the felt is missing rattles like crazy.
Looks like the window latches are missing on the glass. I can take a picture of mine to see what they look like.

Living the salt life in northern Ohio, Never rust trumps all the problems.

That was the sweet spot for my old 258. With weather changes, I'd adjust the timing by hearing and feel.. When I'd occasionally put a timing light to it, it was always at 8-9 BTDC.

Better view? Wow i was thinking it be the opposite?

Anyways I made the deal going to pick them up friday.

I have a fiberglass tub and a yj top. But i also have a 85 cj7 top, if for some reason I have to switch them so be it.

I'll need the strikers for the tub.

Thanks for your help i was really on the edge weather or not to go the fiberglass route and thats what I wanted all along.
I removed the body mount bolt from my front grill in less than 60 seconds.... God bless the man who changed the body mounts and put antiseize on that bolt.... Next question has anyone removed a front grill without pulling the radiator out? It looks very possible just figured I'd ask again before I started unbolting everything.

Look at that....

… and leave the radiator in the Jeep? Don’t think I would try that.. a radiator full of coolant hanging on two hoses sounds like a bad idea even if you can.

Better than losing your tail lights. Fuse fell out of mine at some point in the last few months. Renewed inspection Friday & found this Thurs nite
