Drove it to work. Battery hold down broke and the battery jumped out and I drug it halfway to work :(
Got a ride to the parts store got a battery and spent the rest of my lunch hour making up cables and a new hold down for it

Get a knife and scrape off the gunk so you can read it

Thanks! I’m really not sure what all is in here, I found a tag on the rear diff but it seems to say “USE LIMITED SLIP <something> HUBS ONLY”. View attachment 4146272

Cleaned it and wiped down under the hood a little

Tore apart a V8 tach to see why it wasn't working.
Turns out the transformer was shorted on the primary side.
Good news for the ignition system that it didn't fail by opening up.

The only reason I can see it's shorted was that it over heated and the insulation melted.
Maybe the PO left the ignition ON without the engine running.
Transformers are great with AC but sck with DC.

The only difference between a I6 tach and a V8 tach is a capacitator. one is 220nF and the other is 270nF.
