I cleaned out my skidplate to frame bolt holes and sprayed them down with penetrating lube so they will be ready for the T176 install. I also wire wheeled my dana 300 that I've got taken apart for a rebuild.
dana 300

Well, I didn't actually do anything to it but I picked up my rebuilt T176 with adapter housing and stick shift. I'm stoked so I had to mention it. Geez they didn't even clean the outside of the case, oh well.

Drilled and tapped stripped motor mount hole. Removed the fender to do it too.......
replaced motor mount. Maybe do the other tomorrow
finally finished installing new motor mounts. I think I put about 5 years worth of wear and tear trying to get them on (lol). I reinstalled my exhaust. And installed my new clutch set.
I got my rebuilt t176 transmission installed under the jeep.

Installed transfer case yesterday. Today I installed new radiator , thermostat, fender, and clutch linkage. Why do I have the worst luck sealing things up. It's leaking like siv
Filled it with antifreeze. Jump started it and ran it for the first time in a couple months since I've had the transfer case and transmission out. And adjusted the clutch linkage . I guess I had to do it because I installed a new clutch set. Hope to get it inspected tomorrow or saturday.
Installed u-joints in my rear driveshaft and installed. Changed dana 300 bottom cover gasket. Made reverse light switch wire harness and reinsalled.
Filled my transfer case with fluid. Screwed in the speedometer cable into the transfercase. Made and installed tunnel cover(Did a good job I think if I may brag). And test drove it (just need to get it inspected !)

I changed my oil. I couldn't hear the (i guess connecting rod) knock. I added a little coolant to her. I changed my belts. Although I think I can hear it a little whie driving. Tried to remove oil dip stick tube , but haven't got it off yet.
Got the oil dipstick tube and dipstick off. It was all crusty. Started cleaning it. We'll see if stays clean. If not try and find another one.
Finished putting on the rear bumper I snagged at the junkyard for $10, reinstalled the cleaned out gas tank and new sending unit.

No idea what the bumper is off of. Some type of Wrangler, maybe front, maybe rear.???

Put on my hat, gloves, and gore-tex and went for a ride. I only have a bikini top and half doors.:chilly:

After a coat of Rustolium.

Got any pics of it from the side and further away ? If not don't worry about. I've just never seen a bumper exactly like that on a cj.
Cool, I kinda like it.
Took my Transfer Case(dana300) off. drained the fluid. Removed my intermediate shaft. Removed the shift rails so I can reinstall my original detent springs because the new ones I got from 4wd hardware or quadratec were too short and too weak. You could toss it into and out of 2wd.
The after market springs I got from 4wd hardware or quadratec were too weak and shortReinstalled my original detent springs in my dana 300. . And got my shift rails back in. I also pressed on a dust shield on each transfer case yoke, using loctite 680 and pressing down on with my press. I left 'em under pressure of the press for atleast 10 minutes.
Today , I reinstalled the intermediate shaft in my dana 300. Cleaning the bottom cover mating surfaces and my B.I.L. put on that gasket. For better or worse I wire wheeled and painted my dipstick ,except where you read the level. Put in transfer case plug, 4wd light switch , the shifter linkage, vent hose, reinstalled transfercase, driveshaft , transfer case stick shift, tunnel cover, shifter knobs, and dipstick tube and stick, topped off my rear end fluid and I'm back on the road.
I drained the rear differential , cleaned up the mating surfaces and reinstalled the cover with some black rtv.
Painted my new valve cover for my remanuf'd engine chrysler blue

new valve cover spray painted chrysler blue with duplicolor engine enamel
