So i (somewhat) finished the Body lift, motor mount lift and skid plate install last night.

My sliders are causing the body mount bolts to change angles and not quite make it to the body mount holes so those bolts aren't in but all the other body mount bolts are secured.

The motor mount lift went without problems so its all good.

I installed the TC skid but i will need to bring it back down to install the front driveshaft when the front D44 is ready to bolt up. Plus i still need to install the engine skid as well but that also needs to wait for the front driveshaft install.

This weekend i'm hoping to get the front axle under and tires back on. Then Hopefully get the D35 pulled and start work on the jig for the XJ44.

I think I saw you in Uharrie last year, was my first time with a few buddies letting me tag along. We were in a blue TJ while a red TJ and an old green Willy's led us around. Can you explain what you cut for the hood mod? I can't get a clear look in the pics...

Poison Spyder sends you the white template which has lines for the cuts and dotted holes for the corners to be rounded.

The pic below explains it pretty well.

your jeep rocks, always nice to have the better half involved
Thanks for the awesome compliment!

Yeah I really enjoy that she's into it also. However, I got her Destiny and Advanced Warfare for Christmas so i really haven't seen much of her in the past week lol.

On a better note i got the rear removed today. Just got back from HD with some supplies i need to make the jig.

So i decided to leave the rear alone for a little.

Dropped the TC skid to install the Novak cable shifter and check the seal on the SYE.

Since the steering gearbox has been leaking for about 2 year now :shhh: and with the introduction of the 33's with the intent of 35's the wife convinced me to pick up a Durango box for an upgrade/replacement.

What a horrible experience. Stuff just wasn't working right for me.

To do list for tonight-
-front drive shaft
-install engine skid
-tc skid
-swap rubi yoke for the 1310 ECGS yoke

Tomorrow will be reserved for cutting and grinding on the XJ44

I'd love to hear your exhaust.
It's nothing special so I'm not sure if that was sarcasm.

The wife is great driving stick on the road, her Impreza is standard, but off road she has problems crawling and revving it right. So I told her I could make the exhaust more distinct and she loved the idea. I started cutting 10" of tailpipe off at a time and it just wasn't making a difference. So we got passed the muffler and the drone was so annoying but the cheapo tip on it now makes it real bearable and she enjoys it which is what matters most.

If you really wanted to hear it I'll post a video.

Ya, I guess my comment could come off as sarcasm. It wasn't. I really want to hear it, post the video. Very understandable when the forum is full of exhaust nazis, but I was sincere. It looks like it would be loud as hell, that's why I'm kinda curious.

what do the control arms have to do with the UHC skid?
Pinion angle…..viberations…. those things have to be adjusted, so I'm asking, how did you stick with stock control arms?

I misinterpreted what you said early then. I do have both upper and lower adjustable control arms. From my pics you can see the the skid installed with no control arms installed so I thought your question had something to do with that.

Well it's been about a year and a half. I had to knock out another deployment so the jeep got a little neglected but through the Months my wife kept up with some stuff and now it's finally done. Took it out to URE for a shake down run and it was amazing.

It was 23 months ago that jeep was last taken off road. It had 30/35 open axles, 2 inches of lift, 30 inch tires, and now it has 5 combined inches of lift, tummy tuck, 44/44 air/auto locked, 35 inch tires and much more. It has been an awesome journey over the past 5 years of ownership. I thank jf and all its helpful members. Without y'all I wouldn't be here.
