Hi there,
I feel like Im being a dunce and there is a simple answer to this, but how do I remove the lens of these tail lights? - Most I have seen have 4 screws but not these

Should just snap on then if no screws.

That was my theory and there appears to be small cut outs in the corner of the plastic around the lens to jam something in and lever it, but the plastic seems too brittle to survive it... so just checking before I break it

Looks like a cheap trailer light, that you can buy in a kit for not much money, with both lights and 20' wire harness.

So, if you break it due to age of the light, there are plenty more where it came from.

Most any FLAPS, truck stop, Walmart, and hardware store should have them.

I thought they might be original and worth salvaging, but I had a look and they are not expensive so I think I will replace them anyway, so worst case its hammer time! - but ill still take that beer Hoss!

Well I got my answer but only by breaking it, Incase anyone else needs to know, the number player light at the bottom is held in by two plastic clips, it drops out with all the internals attached

Ahhhh, the bottom light lense is not even visible in your first pic....

Do you need all that (extended side marker/plate mount/side light etc)?

A set of stock cj style trailer light's are def simple and cheap!

Up on further destruction I also learn that they simply slide up and off, so the hour reaching my arm up inside the tail to try and loosen the nuts was a waste
Your right, really don’t need all that flare, just gonna replace them with something simple

THOSE are a really really cheap set.

Never saw one come apart like that.

Never bet a Dog beer with Hoss! It is expensive and hard to find. 🍺

Looks like LED upgrade time then most likely you are good for many years. You may have to upgrade the flasher though.
