Here is one of my memories ---
We were at Ft. McCoy. I was holding on to the side mirror of a truck and standing on the running board while talking to my buddy. Unfortunately i didn't hear them state fire. Three of the howitzers launched there rounds. Needless to say i launched also and found my self laying on the ground looking skyward. I think my buddy is still laughing up in heaven.

Fort mccoy eh? Thats where my old man works. I left the native land to come to North carolina after I got out of the Corps. Mccoy is a nice place though.

While in Iraq at FOB Marez, Had a motor hit 25 meters away from where my team was set up. Hit the roof of the building we were in, luckily didnt detonate. Then approx 5 minutes later a motor went through a CHU in our living area less than 30 feet away from where my supervisor was at. Yet again did not detonate. That was an eventful day.

First week in Iraq: we had tracer rounds overhead and someone yells incoming thinking it was a mortar round. No one saw what he was yelling at so we all took off for cover, and I smacked my forehead on the open door of an uparmored. Out cold.

Out on a route clearance patrol in iraq i was hit by a IED, blew tires on my vehicle so i jumped in the secondary vehicle and continued mission less than 30 minutes from the front gate (we would do 8 hour patrols at 5mph) I was hit a second time by a EFP. I went to the states 2 days later for R and R. Good times.

while working eod escort, my truck was about 50 ft from a dead hadji with a suicide belt on...eod couldnt get the belt off with the robot. as i saw the robot go back towards their truck i figured they might come back with a bomb suit on. out came the robot with a block of c4 in its claw, placed it on the belt, i was picking chunks of bbq hadj off my truck later that day. great times
