I am nuB to the site and I am in the 57703 area and I recently hauled my 93 YJ from the southland of florida where i am originially from and i was wondering wur there are places to ride that is open to jeeps??? i have ridden ATV's roun hur b 4 but not 2 sure wur jeep trails are?? dont wana get in trouble 4 going in the wrong places.. and I haven't ever went rockcrawling b 4 either so that is a hole differnt world to wut i am used 2.. flat terrain, wet, muddy, swamp lands.. ha ha ... thanks 4 your time and n e info would b appreciated..:D
wow your 38? this is not myspace its ok to type words out, had to say it. anyway alot of the guys out here are not to happy about mudding because it gets the trails closed down pretty quick. look up bh4wheelers they have all the info you need for trails, also get a map from forestry service they show all the trails and when they are open so u dont go where you are not supposed to be. runs are almost every weekend so hit someone up me included and we can get you out and show you the area. and lastly TREADLIGHTLY:highfive:

Look forward to seeing the rig out there... and are you military?

Im not from South Dakota, but will be in Brookings in a couple of weeks. I'm wondering if there are any trails semi-close to there that i could show a few people how fun Jeeps are:confused:. thanks!
Sorry but no. The only thing we have here in and around Brookings is alot of M U D. on the minimum maintenance roads. We have a real unfortunate case of bland on this side of the state.

I'm a west river man caught in the flatlands.

I know this is an OLD THREAD.....but my family and I are finally getting the hell out of Commiefornia. Retiring out of the Army in 3 1/2 years (have to drill in ND till then tho) and gonna call SD home in June of 2016 where my wife is originally from. Hope to meet some local Jeepers from East River to hunt with and get some trips in to the hills to meet some of the West River guys. Feels good to finally be moving to wide open spaces.....California sucks ***! Gods country here we come.......

I just moved back to SD (born and raised in Mitchell) from northwestern Washington. Lived there for the last 40+ years. I lived in Rapid City in the early 70's and really liked the Hills so the wife and I decided to move to Hot Springs. Far enough from her relatives that live on the north end of the Hills and neither of us are flat-landers anymore.

Bought an 82' CJ7 last summer for running around in the hills. It works better than a 3/4 ton Chevy diesel for that.
