I’m sure this has been done a million times so it’s nothing new. What I will say is that for the guys looking to store rifles in a hard case like the large pelican 1750 this works great. The shelf sits low enough the case wont slide into the windows. It looks like a second case will sit on top just inside the roll bar but I can’t verify as I only have one case. I simply cut a 1/2” thick piece of plywood 56 x 16 and put a 4 1/4” long 2x4 under the fronts as supports. They rest on the fender well. Fold the seats down and it slides right in. I will Be carpeting it black eventually. Shorter soft rifle cases fit under the shelf nicely. As do ammo cans. I didn’t reinforce the shelf as the pelican cases put the weight right in the outer sides.
