Rear bumper question

2422 Views 8 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  JKU_HARDROCK
So I just purchased a 2015 JKU Hard Rock edition and I have a question about the rear bumper. It has a cutout that I would only assume is for the addition of a swingout. But after much searching I can't find one product that would actually be mounted there. Even the rear tire swingout from Maximus mounts to the door hinges and they supposedly make things specifically for the OEM bumpers.

What gives? Is there a product out there or not? The front bumper can accommodate a winch (with the addition of a mounting plate) and that's great but the rear seems to be a mystery. I would like to utilize and keep the rear bumper because I do like it but I am definitely looking to add a frame mounted swingout.

Wow Benny good find! But good lord that is expensive!!! For that price I can get the entire Smittybilt XRC rear bumper complete with swingout.
I appreciate the help but if that's the only option I will have to pass and start saving my pennies for the XRC I guess. I mean, 8 and a half Franklin's for some mandrel bent tubing!? Yowzaa!

Would be nice if Mopar came out with their own version for about half that price. You would have an instant buyer here. ;)
I agree but I was told there were too many liability and crash test issues.

Ah well that makes sense. I wasn't aware that crash tests were applicable to aftermarket products.

Well if it were to be offered through Mopar it must still pass all requirements even though the part was not equipped at the factory. The aftermarket can get away with this by simply stating "for off road use only".

Is there an OEM Tire Swing for the HardRock bumper ?

Glad you asked the question, but looks like no one has responded?
I got my 15 JKUHR last month and have been searching for a tire swing to fit the really nice bumper ? Hate to remove it to buy an entire set-up?
Whats all the red stuff in the rear?
I just bought a Hard Rock on Friday and I was wondering what that cap/provision was for.
