even a kid would have trouble breaking a T-18.
.
You are right there my friend, I learned to drive on a Ford F250 with the t-18. that truck had nutz hauling 275 bales of hay nearly every day in summer and still ran when my old man gave it away 10 years ago. it saw three teenage drivers (two of us were boys showing off) I wish I had that trans now.

I just gave away a T18.. came out of a 77 CJ.. it was the 4 to 1 first gear though.. I got it for free and passed it along.
Ahhh
Next time.

The rain just stopped but the day was not a wash out. Got up this morning and shot a coat of POR15 on a boat load of parts, and shot a first coat of Chassis Black as well.

Waiting for the POR to get tacky, got the SpiderTrax installed on the front:

Had all the spray guns working today, two coats of herc and a coat of the UV. I'm done with the Herculiner now until I spray the bed of the F150.

While the rain was doing its thang, I stuck the rockers up and masked off a line for the top edge. Pulled em off & installed the Tough Stuff rocker gasket, then put the rockers back on for good.

One more coat of Chassis Black and I'll get to start installing all dem parts!

Looking good fatman... I spent the weekend taking off tractor parts (plow, snowblower, chains) and putting on the mower deck, fixing broken parts on the tractor, greasing it up, etc.

I then put on a new screen/glass door for the deck that opened the right way and hten moved onto washing all the salt off the tractor, snowblower, plow, wife's car.

Not quite working on the Jeep too much when all the cleanup from living in the rust belt must be done!

Keep up the good work!

Laziness? ahhh... just frugal with your time Besrk.
I dont regret powdercoating my parts. Clean and solid.
I am now painting all the other parts, Fatman, I have to hand it too you. Its a heck of a chore cleaning all those parts. I should have bore a son when I was 12 years old, then I would have some good help like you got.

Fatman,
The heater ducts look brand new, did you paint the mechanism? These are old parts that you restored right?
They are the 24 year old parts going back in. I just can't bring myself to installing filthy parts back into a Jeep that my son & I have worked this hard on. The PO had drilled through the cowl and into the air box for an antenna, so we did a fiberglass repair. I did the Blazer blower upgrade, as well as resealed the box.

Looking good Dave! I was wondering whether to powder coat all my small parts (hinges..etc.) but I think I may just go POR 15/Chassis Black after seeing yours. I think I had a momentary lapse of laziness... :D
I bought all new powder coated stainless steel hardware from Kentrol but I've decided not to use it. You got me hooked on this texture and it's easy to spray

That is the hard part, the in-laws were up this weekend and I had help to get some of the stuff done around the house, especially the new deck door, so I had to take it when I could get it.

I am all done with my fertilizing, crabgrass killing, seeding, weeding, dump runs and now I can get back to it...

oh yeah, new 30x40 garage construction starts next week!

Hey Fat, What did you finally decide on what kind of flares you had YJ or CJ. I think your pics just sold me a set.

They are YJ flares, either that or the set is interchangeable. Got em off Craig's, brand new, for a song.
They had the YJ tail for the front, but they're sitting on a shelf still wrapped up.

I just checked Bushwacker's site and looks to me that the cj and yj sets are the same.
