Power steering problem

I've had lately two occurences, when power steering stopped working for 5 seconds after driving through water (puddle, not river). First time there was heavy rain and a lot of water, maybe 10-15 cm deep "rivers" on the street. I stopped on the street behind another car and then decided to start moving by turning right to another empty lane.
Second occasion was two weeks later when my wife drove throw a puddle (3 cm deep) and right after that turned left on cross-road, the power steering was not working for few seconds.
Sounds like some belt is not tight enough and slips...

Any similar experiences?

yep sounds to me like the belt is slipping when it gets wet. Take a look at it on the ribbed side and see if it look shiney at all and also when you turn it over is there small cracks in th rubber. if so it needs to be replaced.
