So I was one of the lucky 5 who got a free set of the new Poison Spyder DeFenders and thought I would show a quick thread on the install. First it should be noted that this is not hardcore tech and so even if your not the most mechanically inclined you can do this install and add a new look to your Jeep.

The DeFenders arrived packaged very well in a stout box and with expanding foam. As well built as these fenders are you could ship em without a box but it was nice to see they package them so well to prevent any minor mishaps.

The finish of the DeFenders are top notch and other than using a degreaser to prep it for paint thats all that is needed. These will be going on my yellow TJ and I had been in the market for new fenders because I had tweaked mine while wheeling around the time Poison Spyder released these new fenders.

Everything you need to do the install is included even the battery shelf is taken care of. I chose no flares and the Spyder side panel cutouts.

I have not completed this install yet I wasnt able to get much done over the holdiay weekend. But I will update this thread once I finish. Anyway check them out they really are very well designed good looking DeFenders.

looking forward to seeing these installed! what are your plans for paint on them?
So far the plans are to rattle can primer and semi gloss black and either paint the insert yellow or possibly polish them out. If I paint the inserts yellow I am thinking of painting a piece of sheetmetal black and put it behind the Spyder cutout to give it contrast of black/yellow/black. The install should be fairly simple and quick because of the design and quality of the product.
Those fenders look nice. Do that have different inserts other than the spyder inserts?
Not that I am aware of currently but contact Dusty at Poison Spyder and he can tell you for certain. I checked their website and did not see plain inserts but it maybe something in the works.
Lucky you. I like the Spyder cutouts.
 Yes it was really cool of Poison Spyder to do this. Ive won some giveaways before but I really think it was good of them to do it this way.

Well I havent forgotten about this but we had nothing but rain this past weekend and since my divorce I've had to store my Jeep at a buddies house and all our work has been under a polebarn. So...needless to say I wasnt able to get it mocked up cause I didnt want those beautiful fenders rusting up.

On a side note I may have a hookup to get them painted by a bodyman for cheap or nothing. If you have any questions ask or contact PSC.

I like the look of the PSC Defenders installed but I am curious how much cutting is involved or is it completely bolt on? Any updates?

Sorry for the long delay. They are very easy to install. Yes there is some cutting involved but its not hard work at all. They were on the yellow jeep for a while now and got lots of great response. People really like them and they are very well made. We are pulling them off the yellow jeep and putting them onto a TJ on tons and 40s. Going to beat on them on the trail. Once I get those pictures I'll put em up. I got divorced and my ex got the old camera hence the lack of photos.

I did, I looked at all of the links several times.
I am on the tail end of my salvaged Rubicon rebuild and I am at the fenders. I have been searching and researching for several weeks. At this point money is a huge issue as I have almost completely drained my bank account so I have been looking at the best product at the best price. I still have to buy new rims and tires. And we know that those are not cheap.
I have narrowed it down to either the Poison Spyder TJ DeFenders - 3" Flares (Steel) or T&T Customs 3" Flares. Not to happy with all of the extras that I have to buy with the T&T. Also, I have to calculate shipping. I know how much the T&T fenders cost to ship, but I have to call to get a quote on the Poison Spyders.
Decisions decisions. I know how women feel picking out shoes.

Went with the DeFenders. The price was right and the quality seems to be the best. I was also really happy with the shipping. I got scared when I was told to call for a shipping quote. Was surprised that it was much less than I expected. Can not wait to get them in and on. I will be adding the pics to my build thread when I get it up.
