That's right, I am FINALLY making my build thread! I have been modding this Jeep for three years now so I have a lot of catching up to do. Just bare with me, because this is going to take some time to get through. I will start from the beginning and try not to miss anything. :2thumbsup:

It all started in 2004 when I saw the beast that AEV and SuperLift made.

Not only did it look awesome, but it boasted some incredible performance. A Jeep Grand Cherokee with QDII coupled to a HEMI! I had to have it! Unfortunately, being a lowly military man also trying to support a family I could not afford a $45K vehicle, let along the $5K+ for the lift tires and other goodies.

Finally after the market took a crap in late 08 the time had come! I started looking around and pricing the different models and option. By then the CRD had also come out which I wanted more than the Hemi, but I could not find one in Cali  I found a few in other states, but they were too far away and more than I could afford. So I ended up scoring a 2005 Limited with every option available that year and 40K miles for $16K! It seemed no one wanted to buy a big Hemi powered vehicle at that time, so local dealers were pricing them very low. Even a year after I bought it I couldn't find a better deal

This was the day I brought it home!

Yes it is dirty because I insisted on swinging by a trail on the way home to test out 4lo! I wanted to make sure the t-case and ELSDs were working properly. :D In fact the first mod I made was to remove the front air dam before I hit the trail.

Cargo lights look awesome!

It was really that easy to install? I think you got the strip off eBay? Mind pointing me in the right direction?

They put to shame my little $7 led bar from china freight I just installed.

Thanks Bud! Here are a couple of links for you:

These are the exact ones that I have:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/5M-Waterproof-3528-SMD-White-600-Flexible-LED-Strip-Light-Bulb-Tracking-number-/310371559186?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item4843962712

And here are some black ones. Same as the others only the base is black instead of white. I just ordered a roll :D These should be less visible than the others.

If you want some wiring instruction check out my Rock Light instal.
Thanks man!

I think it's safe to say you have the sickest wk on this site. Are you running out of things to mod? Haha

Ok I need some input from you guys! I want to through a little color into this thing. Originally I wanted to do red. Like paint my calipers and other little things. But that seems to be the fall back color a lot. So I am thinking one of these.

Hemi Orange:

Or Monster Green:

I am leaning more towards the orange mainly because I feel the green has kind of been over done lately in the industry (although I still love it). I am just not sure how well it would look with the Jeep being Khaki, Graphite, and Black.

Which ever color I choose I will most likely paint my calipers and suspension components like the coils, control arms, and maybe the rear diff cover. I am sure I will throw it in on little thing around the Jeep as well. I am also planning on painting my radiator!

Like this:

Thought???
That green is one of my favorite colors but you're right: it's totally outplayed right now. It's even worse with winter and ski clothing. Everyone on the mountains seems to be rocking that color or a blue.

Cool stuff you got going on lately.
I swear you're the honey badger of mods - relentless. :D
Keep up the nice work!
You mean his jeep isn't stock?!?!?

Yep mall crawling! The only true wheeling!
Omelet, what kind of tires do you have? I'm sure it's in your sig but I only have my iPhone for the next day or so.

PM sent!

Well maybe it is going Up and Down! :shhh: Or maybe it is just going down to become an SRT clone! Time well tell...
It's secretly a transformer, isn't? I knew it!

My rigs name is Optimus Prime

Well I am still waiting on the last bit of info which I should know Mon. So in the mean time here is an update. I got a couple of goodies in the mail today. First of which is my new 4x4 badge that was for a Ram.

I will be painting it up this weekend and apply it this next week after removing the driver side badges. It is a bit bigger than I was expecting at 9" in length. This will certainly help change the look of the rear end.

I also received some new reveres bulbs!

I spotted these a little while ago and have been wanting to give them a try. I ordered them up earlier this week and they got here fast. They are equipped with one 7-watt Q5 Cree and twelve 5050-SMD LEDs that put out a total of 880 lumens! As you can see the Q5 is equipped with a projector to fire the light straight back while the 5050s provide a spread that the reflectors will catch. I have seen some pics of the light output but I am excited to see for myself just what these will do! I will do a comparison of these and my current LED clusters this week. They also make these in amber so if I like them I might order another set in amber for the front to have more visible turns.
Those reverse lights look awesome! Did you get them on eBay? I'm curious to see the difference. I think you have eBay wheel spacers as well. Can you tell me (or pm me) the seller you bought them from?

Thanks man, your jeep is a beast.
omelet said:
Yes I picked them up off ebay. Here is a link to the ones I bought:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/180805027450?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I also got my spacers off eBay but it has been too long to remember the seller. This is basically what I got except they said made in the USA which I don't see here:

1.25" for the front:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280828158778?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

1" for the rear:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/380412249267?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649
Thanks man, I ended up ordering the same ones before I got a chance to check back here. I went 1" all around. Do you think that will be enough for the front? I was thinking about getting the 1.25" but I didn't want them sticking out. I have the stock 17" chrome moduflex wheels with 255/75 BF Goodrich Mud Terrains.
I made some progress today!

I will get it bent up and installed then see how I want to finalize it.
Lookin' good
This thread gets better by the day!

Oh that place! I guess I will venture over there :D

In case anyone cares, this is how I routed my TB ground wire. I used the lower driver side bolt and ran the wire up the back of the TB, then along the wire harness to the fender.
What type of connectors are those on the end of the ground wire? I've seen them before but don't know the name. Do you just attach the fender end of the ground to any part on the fender?

Does the throttle response even improve with the ground wire over a programmer? Don't you have one? I'm getting an intune so I'm not sure if I should do/need this or not.

Looking awesome as usual!
Ohhh one more thing. Where did you get all of that under good bling? I can only see the dipstick but I'm sure you have everything else.
It is a kit made by Billet Technology. It got them used from a member on JG. It didn't include all the pieces, but it was a great deal that I couldn't pass up on. I plan on buying the missing pieces eventually. I have a some pics a few pages back, but this is what the engine bay looks like now.

As you can see I still need at least the coolant tank cap, radiator cap, and oil cap to get.

Thanks a lot Mike! It is a very tinkered work of art :D
Thanks so much Omelet! Is it Nathan? I'm Jim btw, I figure I should call you by your name since you answer so many of my questions about your amazing rig  I looked on BT' s website before, since I thought maybe that's where you could get them. They don't have any listed under our WKs, just WK2s. I saw them under some other hemi engines though. I wasn't sure if the under hood items were all the same on the 5.7. I'm assuming they are; is that what yours are from?

Thanks again Omelet!
Where did you get the ring terminals. Lowe's had nothing with a 5/16 opening, except for in a $18 multipack.
mrtosh said:
Blizzboy ring terminals can be found at Radio shack or any parts store.
Thanks man! Radio shack had exactly what I needed. Appreciate the info.
Nate, what are you doing with your old skids?
omelet said:
Well I sold my 4xG front skid already. The suspension skid will probably get turned into a weight sled :D. I still have the t-case skid along with the Asfir t-case bracket that I plan to sell. I also still have the 4xG rails that I will sell. The problem is I hate shipping large heavy items especially if I don't have the box they came in. So I try to sell stuff like this locally.

I hate paying for the shipping of large heavy items.
I finally got a chance to check their website out the other day and it looks like their new headquarters is 15 miles away from me, haha! Maybe Kolak can swing a special deal for me when I'm ready to buy some since I won't need them to be shipped. :2thumbsup:
Are you refering to 4xG? If so their headquarter location might not matter. I believe they are still using SuperLift's manufacturing, storage, and shipping facilities which is in Louisiana I think. So unless they stock their products at their headquarters too, you will have to pay for shipping.
Darn, it must just be jeepin'byal then. Either way, that's kind of cool that a well known jeep store is close by. I have Quadratec 25 mins one way, and JBA 15 mins another way. Go PA :2thumbsup:
omelet said:
Should be here next week! I am not sure hen I will have the time to do the instal though.

Haha! I am sure! I haven't had to jack it up for maintenance in a while! The case allows me to reach the engine compartment easier so I am not on my toes all day. Luckily I have a few cases that are lager that I can use.

This is the place I found where I was going to order the other pieces:

http://www.custombilletstore.com/category_s/85.htm

Give that a look. Hopefully that will give you what you are looking for Jim!
Sorry, I missed this before. Thanks for the link Nate!
