Story (optional):

I have been running and building jeeps since I was 16. I sold my last jeep a cj2a with a 350, 1 tons and 38" tsl's in 2002 and bought the Rubicon in Oct of 2003 off the show room floor
just two days after it arrived as a fresh 2004 model. I decided to pay it off prior to building it into what it is today. So it basically sat for 6 years while I paid it off and saved money to begin building it.
It only had 23,000 ish miles on it when the majority of mods got done. I am extremely pleased with how it's turned out and the only future mods will be front and rear fabbed 9's
with 5.38's and ARB's. When the 4L gives up I would like to go with a 4.7L stroker.

Story: The whole jeep disease started when my parents bought me an '08 JKU. I loved it. It had a budget boost on some 32's. I knew I wanted another wrangler. I saw a 1998 Sahara at a local shop for $10,995. I went to my parents but they wouldn't give me the extra money. So I went to the credit union and took out a $6,000 loan and hoped they'd come off the price. I test drove it and it was perfect. No rust, 84,000 miles, and new wheels and tires. I told him I have the money right now but I need it for $9,999 when all is said and done. They did it. I was literally the happiest kid ever. Being 19 and making payments on my own
car was such a great feeling. I have big plans for this jeep.

My Dad bought my jeep when I was thirteen as a weekend car and when I turned sixteen he passed it down to me. Now let me let you know that when I got my jeep from my Dad it looked nothing like it does today. It was basically the "Pep Boys special". It started as a jeep with no lift on 32's and had plastic stick on air vents and cheap seat covers. So with each job I worked at I saved up money to start building my jeep. I wanted to keep my jeep as a "sleeper", meaning that most people see my jeep as just another jeep with 33's and a few bolt ons. Clearly it's not and will keep up with the "bigger" jeeps. I can say that if I looked back seven years ago today, I would of never had imagined how fair i've gone in building my jeep. I'm truly satisfied.

My plan for now is not to add anything to my jeep. Just travel and take advantage of my jeep and what the U.S has to offer.

This is my wifes jeep, she had always wanted one in high school so when she graduated in 2004 she went out and bought this. She went looking for a TJ Sahara, but her dad talked her into the unlimited because she could put a lawn mower in the back. A few years ago I sold my XJ and started wheeling this. I put the skids on and wheeled it stock for a year, got hung up on just about everything, and started gathering up parts for it.

My dad owns and runs a paint/body shop, and he and I buy and fix salvaged Jeeps as a side job. Sometimes we buy salvaged Jeeps to keep for ourselves, as was the case with this '02 TJ. It is actually a conglomeration of 2 heavily wrecked '02 TJs, one with major frame damage and one with major body damage. I took the good tub and good frame, combined them into a working Jeep, and had it on the trails in less than a month. Originally I planned to keep it nearly stock and daily drive it while I used my LJ as a trail rig, but then I took my dad wheeling one day and he got bit by the bug. So then we had to build it to keep up with my LJ, so I decided I was gonna stretch it and practice my fab skills. The majority of the parts used to build this Jeep were left over from other Jeeps or purchased used, leading my dad to affectionately nickname it "Patches." It is technically my main trail rig right now since my LJ is broken, but once the LJ is going again my dad and I can go tear up some trails together!
