OBD code P2015 on 2006 3.0 CRD WH

Got MIL light on dash today. Plugged OBD reader in and it gave the code P2015.
Reset the fault and MIL light went out. Will have to wait and see if it comes back.
Any ideas what this fault is?
2006 3 litre CRD diesel WH Grand Cherokee (UK Spec)

Thanks

Couldn't find Jeep code.Sprinter 3.0 diesel code P2015-Fuel rail pressure malfuction maximum fuel flow exceeded.I hope they are the same.P2015 isn't on the list from WKJeeps.com.
That is about right. It is same engine. If that code come again and again most probably you have injector problem.
I thought that error comes up periodically if you have one of those devices attached to your fuel rail that increases the fuel pressure to increase horsepower/torque. Do you have a spider or TDC?
P2015 error code update

Took car to dealer yesterday to sort out fault code as it has gone into "limp mode" (gearbox short shifting, wont rev beyond 2000 rpm)
Dealer says its the dreaded swirl pot motor failure.
Cheque book and overdraft at the ready.
Car only 4 years old, 29000 miles on the clock and no tune up boxes. Have looked at them but now wont bother.
And I thought it would be all the American built bits that would fail or fall off, not the supposed "high build quality" German oily bits.
Does anyone know if the Mercedes M Class and E Class have this problem as I assume they use the same engine or is this a Jeep only issue?

Thanks

Al
Pretty sure the part causing problems is the seal between the intake and the turbo. They should install the updated intake pipe 53013672AE along with the other repairs.

reminds me I have to check my Racor this weekend, I'm planning a long highway trip and I don't want any oil going to the intake.

the swirl motor failure seems to show up causing different codes, guess we'll add your code to the list.
According that it is hardly swirl motor
Think it's just a code some cheep reader pick up. I am sure the dealer got the P1270 DTC. Out of interest what are they charging you? just so I know if we are over charging. book time is 4 hour but we charge 6 out of warranty. Is there no history to the vehicle of this work don't before? see loads of repeat failures now doing under parts warranty as the mod pipe posted above was not out at the time.
I was also curious if the Mercedes also has this problem.

Merlintec, once we put a filter on our CCV system, it would seem that the lack of oil would allow the engine to self clean up by burning off the gunk. Is that correct, or do you think the "gunk" is more permanent?

I was also wondering if the swirl motor change-out and cleaning job can be done by an experienced home mechanic. Are there any special (expensive) tools needed to do the work?

We have been too busy to put together a filter system and probably wont get to it unil after the warranty runs out. Its possible that it will never need the work done.
The sprinter also uses this engine. Based on what I have read I think the swirl motor issues are caused by the oil leaking from the turbo intake tube. This would explain why we would see high failure rates on the WK/WH and not on other vehicle that utilize the same engine with a different intake design.

I also did some googling, I didn't find the swirl motor failures on mercedes vehicles that we are seeing on the WK and 300c vehicles.
Update 2

Got a list of parts dealer has ordered to replace swirl motor. Includes new style intake pipe so hopefully it wont happen again.
Car goes in Friday so will let you know the cost (probably when I've recovered from the shock, parts are £230+vat ($356):(). £85 ($132) for intake pipe.
Is it worth fitting an oil seperator?
Lots of US & Canadian owners seem to do this mod.
If so anyone know where I can get a Racor or ProVent in the UK, can't seem to find a supplier in the UK.

Thanks

Al
If you make a lot of short trips in the winter time I would avoid the separator. My element froze up due to the condensation and oil pushed out of the dipstick and got everywhere. No damage but a hell of a mess.

The new intake should really resolve the issue. You'll still get that oil mist going into the intake it just wont drip out. No different then every other vehicle on the road these days.

Have a look at this thread, http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/swirl-motor-turbo-inlet-mod-where-fit-racor-provent-904070/ ( post 7 )
An address and number of a company who supply provent's in the UK. Also a few pictures on where I fitted the unit. Good luck with the repairs.
Big bill - time to fit a ProVent

Got the Jeep back yesterday, along with a bill for £1100!! 8 hours labour:eek: Check your inlet pipe for leaks and get the new inlet pipe if you have the old style one (UK dealer price £84.82 + VAT)
Time to hit the internet and buy a ProVent, pronto (even though new motor comes with a 2 year warranty).
Just got to find somewhere to fit it, like previous posters said, UK spec WH has brake servo where you Yanks are fitting yours.
There seems to be space on the passenger side of the engine bay.
Time to break out the spanners
Will normal silicone hose stand upto the oil mist or will I have to buy the hideously expensive fluoro lined stuff?
Also, seen several posts on people butchering the turbo resonator to remove the innards. Is this worth doing and does it have any benefits to the running?
How hell do you get it out without dismantling most of the car or losing pounds of knuckle skin and pints of blood?
hi can any one helpjust got in my car and the throttle light is flashing and the engine management light stays on.put my tester on and got the fault code p2015 (intake manifold runner pos/sens/switch circuit/range/perf bank 1

Hi
I have check your vin but can not seen any swirl motor replacement on you vehicle so no parts warranty that I can tell. All the work done at kings is this your dealer? last mileage was 21K if you are still under 50k you still have 12 months emissions warranty.
I would call customer care.
Regards,
Simon
