Where can one obtain a service manual, stating what needs to be done at every service, as well as what quantity of spares (filters, oil, etc.) are needed for a WKII Overland with the 3.0 CRD VM Motori engine?
The owners manual has a section on what needs to be done and some of the fluid capacity. I think the maintenance schedule can also be downloaded from Jeep.com , in the owners section.

There is an owners guide, which is a summary, and a DVD with the owners manual that is usually delivered with the Jeep. The hard copy of the owners manual usually needs to be ordered from Jeep.com, but I'm not sure how that differs from country to country.
Thanx ColdCase. Much appreciated.
I know this is an important one for sure.

If your flashlight doesn't work, the battery is probably bad.

It's a Varta V500HT battery. Expensive too!

I replaced that battery in my flashlight and it still doesn't work. :frown2:

Not sure what the problem is, 3V at the battery. Ug.

Anyway, another one for you people who want to change the FP relay (external one after recall)

Mine is working great! I put electrical tape around the base to keep moisture out.

Hi Guyz,
from where i can get service manual of this brand. i need it as on URGENT basis. please help to get n will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Post 1 has a link to tech authority where you can get immediate access to service information and/or order service information on a USB stick. You need a windose computer, or VM, with exploder. More information is available on line than in the USB. There are no PDFs or paper service manuals besides those provided by aftermarket outfits like Haynes.
Doing the 40K mile maintenance on my 2016 Summit and the ELSD (rear axle) seemed a tad low. So I got a quart of the $45 special gear oil from FCA and was surprised that it took almost the full quart before it ran out of the fill plug. Anybody else have this happen? There are no leaks or problems, so it looks like this may have been low from the start. I am the third owner and the previous owners had dealer service.

I have found the answer which I will post to perhaps help others. The ELSD rear differential has two plugs which appear to be fill plugs. The proper one to use is the pass side 8mm hex and not the rear facing 10mm hex plug. I removed the side fill plug and retrieved most of the expensive lube that I added. So in reality I was only low about 6-8 ounces. The Amsoil site says it holds 2.7 pts.
Also on close inspection that rear plug is stamped "Do not open" , wish I would have seen that earlier.

I am looking for a powered side mirror (passenger) for my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. The body of the side mirror does not match the color of the jeep. Could someone please advise on the exact part number? Thank you.

Horn not working

I suspect it is a rodent problem. The horn fuse is good but I can't find anything on a horn relay, are they not used anymore? Also, does the wiring for the horn go down the right or left front fenders?

Thanks,
Steve
You must have a late model with one horn fuse. Early models had two, one for each horn. There is a horn relay, but its on the TIPM circuit board. You may need to pull apart the TIPM to get at it. I don't see a DTC for the horn, so to troubleshoot you'll have to pull off the horn connectors and/or probe the TIPM connector. One horn wire should be connected to ground, the other should have 0 volts unless the horn switch is pressed. You may have to pull off the grill to get at the horns.

You should be able to get circuit diagrams applicable to your model year and cable routing at techauthority.com, for a subscription fee. I have early model stuff handy, but the horns were wired different then.
Horn fuse

I believe I have 2 horns ... think I have seen them ... but have only seen one reference to a fuse. Maybe it is because I stopped looking when I found one but was expecting to find a relay. I will look further. It is a 2018 model year Grand Cherokee.

Thanks for the reference to techauthority.com
Got my Trailhawk! Now I'm experiencing ColdCase's "miles of smiles" -

I have a couple questions about maintenance, not mechanical but I don't see a more relevant thread:

I have two choices for parking - my driveway, in full sun. I've ordered window shades all round. Or, under a tree that is a favorite spot for birds completing their digestion. So which is less worse for the paint, sunshine or bird poop?

Also, the interior is black and my dog is cream colored. Can anyone recommend seat covers, along with any other hair-avoidance methods? The back seat cover in particular needs to hold up under a large enthusiastic dog.

Thanks in advance -

Look for a quality "seat hammock" that fits over front and rear headrests posts. It helps prevent your dog from falling into the footwell behind the front seats. Put some heavy duty plastic bins in the wells to level things out. A good hammock will have a nylon bar attached to the back underside that gets shoved between the seat base and back. Some also have flap to cover the sides. But... your dog will most likely damage the rubber door seal with time.

Is there a procedure for compression testing on the 3.6L?

I'd like to check the easy side cylinders tomorrow.

I'd suspect warming it up and then removing the fuel pump relay until it stalls. Remove a spark plug and then screw the compression tester in.. Then turning it over may work?

What is the psi specifications for the 3.6L?

Found that it should be at a minimum 100 psi and no more than 25% difference between all the cylinders.

Test results: Had build up on #1 plug. Removed ASD relay for testing and held throttle to floor.

105 psi on front left cylinder. OOf. That's not very good. Got 145 psi on #3 cyllinder. Got 150 psi on #5 cylinder.

Did a leak down test on #1 cylinder. Leaking from the exhaust pipe mostly. Tried turning the motor over a bit with a wrench.
