kill switch for tj

hello fellas

i was just wondering, somebody on here had a referance to a kill switch that basicly replaces what i believe is the starter relay, and is controlled by a key fob.

now i could be wrong it could of been just a relay that you splice in but i think having a kill switch on a key fob instead of hidding a switch somewhere is really freaking cool

Anybody knows about this or share my same outlook :2thumbsup:

thanks for your help guys

this is it, master lock has a system. from my understanding, a relay that replaces the one for starter circuit or fuel pump.

the second link is a video

it was the "20`s" bro, anything with "20`s" is worth at least 2 or 3 grand under book value
Wont fit anything but Foreign models.
thanks guys fro your replies. i just wrote them an email stating i would love to get one of these if it works on my jeep. lets see when they reply.

for some reason i couldnt get any info on cost or shipping though.

yes i got it thank you.............i went through the list of compatible cars....and no jeep in sight :brickwall:brickwall....i just died a little in side....

im going to wait for master lock to get back to me...... man thats gona suck.
JC Whitney sells them. Last time I looked they had one for my 1999 TJ. Only problem I see is if someone steals your keys, with fob attached, they can steal your Jeep as well if someone is trying to steal your Jeep and you're close enough for the fob to enable the fuel relay. I went with something else, because of those two issues.

I can't see why that kit wouldn't work in a TJ. All one does is insert a receiver/relay shaped like the relay it replaces. (For manual transmission models, you may need to have the clutch pedal jumper-fuse installed for the unit to get a ground supply.)

yes i can see these being an issue. however key fob or not if they take your keys you are screwed anyway. and ill ask MASTER lock when they get back to me what the range on the key fob is. i have seen key forbs with an adjustment inside. one of those little things on the circuit board that you need a tiny screw driver for.

this is also true the only thing i see is maybe the prongs on the relay face a different way depending on the car model.

i think for a 120 bucks its worth it no??

heres what they wrote:

Thank you for your email,

We will not be expanding our fitment, if it is not listed, unfortunately
we do not have one for your vehicle, nor will we in the future.

Sincerely,

that sucks......and the worst part is:

THEY HAVE A WRANGLER IN THEIR INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO

there goes that idea.

Many cars use the standardized mini relay.

do you think its worth a shot ...or am i just wishing here

If you want that type of security system, then it's worth the shot. It's a clever design and approach but I just think it is too easy to defeat with the swap of a simple relay. But, one could install the reciever in a remote location within the starting circuit. That is what I would do if I had that kit.

You could contact the company and ask them the pin configuration. The Jeep uses a standard ISO mini relay (30, 87, 87A, 86, 85 configuration).
