Story: Bought in November 2008. Shortly afterwards I joined JeepForum and started the mods. I do a lot of towing, and was frustrated with the lack of power with the 3.8L so I installed a RIPP supercharger as my first mod. Later I joined a local 4x4 club, and the mods really began. Considering the hilly area in the southeast, I decided to go with a LCOG rig, large tires (37's) / minimal lift (2.5").

This has been a hobby of unlimited options, one I enjoy greatly. Every time I crawl under the Jeep I come up with new ideas. The wife and I enjoy the monthly club rides, Jeep Beach, and whatever Jeep events we can find. Next to being able to go practically anywhere, we love the camaraderie of the Jeep community. Hope someday to make it out west to Moab and play in the big rocks.

>>
>> Story.
>> Purchased this jeep in 01/2013 fairly well built with 6" Tera long arm, speed bumps, built rubicon axles, bumpers, lights, 37s, etc. It was a very capable built jeep and was wheeled and driven most of the year in the way it was purchased. Sold the axles wheels and tires in November and built the one tons...... And it snowballed from there. I didn't pay much for the jeep in the beginning because it needed a little work and that is why I did one tons so soon, and the hemi, that is another reason for one tons.
>> This jeep is my first jk but I also have a tj unlimited on one tons, a 5.9magnum motor, 40s, etc.
>>
>> With the addition of the Hemi this jeep has become a totally new animal! Runs and drives how they should from the factory. I plan on keeping this one a long time!!!! As of this month also the jeep is no longer a rubicon.... It now has a 4 speed atlas giving it a stupid 167:1 crawl ratio.
>> Hope you all like it as much as I do. Took a 3300 mile trip to Seattle Washington for a job in March as well. Jeep runs like a top and cruises all day on the hwy. The best or worst part is on the Seattle trip I rolled a scale at 7600 lbs, normally weighs 6k but with all the gear in it was a pig. Still ran like a top but sorry for being long winded.

Story:

In September of 2012, I traded in my TJ for this brand new JK. The very next day, I joined a Jeep club and have been stuck in the "wheel it, break it, upgrade it" cycle ever since. What was going to be a reliable daily driver has become a capable rig that has tackled trails at SMORR, Iron Range, Colorado, and Moab. Pictures are from our last outing at the local Iowa wheeling grounds.

My story:
Growing up I had access to an old CJ5 that was left on our property out in the country by a man who boarded his horses with us. We would take it out to the creeks and have so much fun I was hooked on Jeeps from then on.
Been on the forum since I bought my YJ back in '05. That one was just a beach buggy for our Corpus Christie visits and a fun project for my step son and I to bond. After we got the motor and electrical right we put a 2.5" RE lift and 32"'s on it. Ended up giving it to him when he graduated.
Missed Jeeps too much so bought the JK in 2010 as a second "fun" vehicle. Well, plans change sometimes and it ended up being a daily driver for a year. Really started modding it in 2012, learned alot from the forum and joined a local Jeep Club.
It's been downhill ever since! (Joking, I've never had so much fun modding and wheeling this Jeep!)
85% of the work I have done myself with the help of you folks here on the forum!
Apologies if I misnamed some stuff and I'm sure I've left things out. Cheers!

Story:
Bought it new in July of '07 with the "Rubi-Lite Package", X with the Rubicon locking rear Dana 44 and electric swaybar disconnect. I broke my stock axles trying to get out of my backyard stream, broke 10 teeth off the front ring gear and blew out both rear axle seals. Instead of rebuilding those axles I found a set of built and re-geared Rubicon take offs that I installed under the Jeep. Its favorite place to play is Rausch Creek in Central PA.

I enjoy off roading, I do it as often as I can. I enjoy taking new off
roaders on trails they thought they couldn't make and getting them excited
about off roading. Our JK's are a great way to get out and see things that
not everyone will have a chance to see and that is why I built and continue
to build mine.

2013 JK 6 speed

Mods:

Axles: D60 front, Sterling 10.5 rear, both from a 2010 F350, 5.38 gears, Yukon lockers, RCV shafts, Reid knuckle, WFO high steer, XRF ball joints, custom WFO drag link, custom track bar and tie rod from Bullet Proof Steering made from TuffDOM 520.

T-case: Rubicon 4:1

Driveshafts: Carolina Driveline 1350 and 1410

Steering: PSC ram, res, pump, and Parker lines and fittings.

Stretch: 3" front, 8" rear

Corner armor: Custom. Compound corner made on press brake.

Suspension: 16" ORI struts all around, double triangulated rear, 3 link front. No bump stops, no rear track bar, no sway bars. Metalcloak joints, 2" x .250" DOM links.

Fuel tank: Custom aluminum fuel cell in rear of Jeep. Raised floor. Rear seat still functional.

Wheels/tires: ATX Chamber Pro II's, 40" Nitto TGs, Monster valves.

Front bumper: VKS pre-runner

Rear bumper: Have to make one yet. Fabbed up a copy of the EVO d-rings for now.

Tire carrier: PSC body mount carrier

Skids: Custom.

Exhaust: Custom with Flowmaster HP-2s (only muffler that would fit)

Towers: TMR 22"

Brackets: Artec, Blue Torch Fab, Ballistic, etc.

Sliders: LoD

Flat belly: Fabbed all new cross members, raised trans, etc.

Electronics: All electronics were maintained and everything works, right down to ABS and traction control. Not a single code was thrown in the making of this Jeep.

And the list goes on.

Story: Before I jump into my story, I would like to note that 95% of the work on my build was done by me. This is not something I do for a living, but a hobby I enjoy. Fuel cell was outsourced and about 75% of the brackets I bought. Had some friends help out on a few things here and there. Other than that, it was a one man show.

Believe it or not, Jeep Forum gave me my start a couple years. Was gone for a while, but thought I'd stop back and catch up. Soon after getting the Jeep, I had 35s and a BB. Hated it. Then an OME lift, then fraken-lifts for a while. Then a MetalCloak Game Changer with 6paks, Rubi axle swap, etc. Realized that no matter what I bought off the shelf, it was all the same and I was far from happy. Pulled it into the garage this past November and 9 months later the beast was born.

The build took far longer than expected. Much of it was a first on a JK, so it was a lot of trial and error and a learning curve. While challenging, I walked away with a wealth of knowledge greater than I ever imagined. One thing unique about my build is I retained the use of the rear seat. It's a family sport. Despite the extra engineering and work, it was well worth it. On the inside, it still feels like the Jeep I bought 2 years ago. The build is not done yet - there are items to fabricate: roll cage, rear fenders, aluminum fender liners, aluminum doors, etc. Who knows what I'll do about the 3.6, but it isn't cutting it. Likely to pick up some 42" sickies next year, so I'll need a lot more power. However, I decided it was time for a break and time to get it on the trails.

It is no pavement pounder. It is in search of the nastiest trails out there. Build, break, repeat is the current chapter.

Was the build worth it? Every single minute. It is absolutely unreal to wheel in it now. Once I discovered that there are magic unicorns in the ORIs, I was hooked.
