That's awesome. Nice to see stuff come together like that.

If that is the flywheel off the V8, it might be balanced for the v8 crank. unlike the I6 flywheel.

So if you are getting it balanced don't get it balanced for a 304.

.
Correct, you will want your flywheel to be zero balanced, not balanced for a gas motor.

On the ring gear rub, Could be off in the centering, but it looks to me like the flywheel mounting face might be bit deeper than what the crank normally is, that or with not using the factory dust shield the flywheel is a bit deep in the bellhousing and that is what is causing the rub.

But I'm curious why the flywheel ring teeth are rubbing. You might want to check the centering of the adapter plate. If the motor shaft is not concentric with the transmission clutch shaft then you could increase the wear on the transmission bearings and might cause difficulty in shifting and be a drag on your power.
For the rubbing on the bellhousing the problem come from my adapter which is thicker than the original. I removed the teeth from the flywheel and the problem is solved.

You're right for balancing the flywheel at zero.

My flywheel leaves for the machine shop ( Universal Crankshaft Inc.) on Thursday.

A project like this is going to bring me several surprise of this kind. This is what we call adventure.

So the flywheel was sitting deeper into the bellhousing?

With the flywheel sitting different in the bellhousing, does the clutch pressure plate clear everything? Is there enough room for the throwout bearing and clutch fork to fit and function correctly?

I have enough room for everything to work inside the bellhousing. The problem is that the flywheel adapter is too thick. It maket the clutch fork rubs on the clutch.

A spacer between the bellhousing and coupling plate should do the trick.

Have you thought about going to a hydraulic throwout bearing? Otherwise, yes a spacer ring will get you the clearance needed for the clutch housing to clear the fork.

The flywheel adapter was thinned 1/8 and I made a plate with a 1/8 aluminum plate. Everything rise by 1/4 inch and now the clutch's fork passes number 1

Next step, I dismantle everything for painting. After that I will be able to start working on the frame and the differentials.

For some reason, that motor is a lot bigger than I was thinking, based off the pictures. That's about twice what I was picturing! I was going to be really impressed if the small one I pictured was going to work for this project... I was picturing one about 15" by 10" or so for some reason...

Your measure is really close to reality. The measurement of my electric motor is 16 '' high by 11 '' wide but it weighs 250 lbs

On a CJ5 jeep the transmission and bellhousing are small. The bellhousing on my jeep is only 16.5 '' in diameter.

I disassembled my electric motor and after a good cleaning I will paint it with the transmission.

Always a good idea to properly identify the screws and small parts. This makes it easier to reassemble.

The inside of the engine is fragile and the cylinders that make the case is very heavy. Two wrench attached on each side make good grip for removing the cylinders.

And yes. These are the only parts that make up an electric motor. In this picture it only misses the center rotor and the bottom of the engine

I needed some plug for my transmission. My son had the good idea to make them with is 3D printer.

I'll set up a swich on the tranfer case for the indicator on the dashboard, but for now the new plug its great.

The engine and the transmission are reassembled and tested. Everything is OK. I prepare a little video of the engine assembly and another for the new test.

Technology makes our world a better place. The proof ... We can now understand each other no matter what language we speak. That was science fiction just a few years ago.
