Help - Jeep Cherokee 2019 Electric Brake Actuator/Piston Fully extended

I did the "Electric Park Brake Retract" steps, using the touch screen and heard the park brake retract. Good so far.

It didn't seem to go in far enough so I attempted a second time (big mistake!!) and then it fully extended out too far.

Now it seems to be floating - disconnected inside rubber sleeve.

Any suggestions for next steps appreciated.

Wrong sub-forum, this one is for old school Wagoneer/Cherokee/Jeep pickup not newer than 1991.

You need to take it off the vehicle, clean it up very carefully and push the piston back in. Any dirt or scoring or damage and the seals will fail.

Or better still, buy an SJ Cherokee which has only a cable and lever on the rear drums.
