Hi everyone, I've been working on my Jeeps fixing them up by myself and I can tell you it gets tiring quick when you always work alone... so I'm here looking for someone that might like to get together and work on their Jeep's since I work at a large shop where I hang out often wrenching, maybe go off roading? I have 5 Jeeps now so I know a thing or two about them but like anyone else I still need help figuring things out time and again. Right now I'm having issues with my 88' XJ, it passed smog runs good and strong off road but once you get over 55 mph there is no power accelerating, anyone local can help out? Did I mention I have a full shop with tools to work on Jeeps? :D

Heading up to Slick Rock this morning (Hwy 4 by Bear Valley ) . I got to Hollister Hills a lot . As a matter of fact I will be down there in a few weeks . For Cal. 4's Molina Ghost Run . If you haven't herd of it check it out on the Cal. 4 website . Good times lots of good people .
I try to get out and wheel or do something 4x4 related at least once a month .
Hey how's it going. I'm from San Jose as well. I'm going up to the cow mountain run on may 4th if you want to go as well. Check out the thread I believe there are almost 30 jeepers going
Maybe, its a bit further then I was hoping but looks like fun I'll see.
I'm down in san jose, I've got a pair of ZJ's that always seem to have something broken. Are you going with the group up to cow mountain on the 4th?

If I can get my power issue fixed I'm down to go and if you guys need a garage to wrench I can help with that to.
Frank Raines isn't too far to go visit for the day. There are some nice little trails to go play on out there. Definitely can't see it all in a day.

I'm from palo alto and go to school in Santa Clara. Ever need a hand just holler

Check out the catalytic converter. Best to remove exhaust from vehicle and shake the Cat. If it rattles you may find that its clogged. I just replaced mine for a similar issue.
I did a service and tune up (rotor, cap, transmission service, oil service, spark plugs and wires) put new injectors along with new muffler and new cat as well. I think I'll replace the fuel pump just because but the guy I bought the jeep from replaced it about 8 months ago and gave me receipts showing the work done.
Check fuel pressure first. Is it injected or carb? What gears are you running? Maybe helpful if you fill out your profile.
I haven't filled it out really since you can only do one jeep and I have 5... so which one to fill out? Any way you can make more then one profile? Its stock over all with fuel injection, I'll check the fuel pressure but I did do a head test, compression test showing good.

Good point! So with 5 Jeeps, you can probably make one good one :D

Will you take beer in return for shop space? I am in Sunnyvale and live in an apartment complex so it's against the rules to work on the car. I have a wj and yj, but had an xj. Any codes? Might be a tranny problem, not dropping into the right gear. This could be caused by faulty tps. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Engine/Basic_Sensors_Diagnostics.htm I want to run Hollister more, but cow mountain is too far and I don't own a trailer to tow my yj that far.
Well I can't store any in the shop but we have a large parking lot where I store my jeeps with no problems your welcome to keep it there. I just roll it in and out from the lot or work over the weekend all hours if its a big job. I just got some new leaf springs for my YJ so if you need I should be busy this weekend working on it just PM me for more info.
This is starting to Sound like a Meet & greet BBQ might be in Order  We do somthing like this with my Sons club .We get together & trade Labor in our particular ares of expertise . Some times we just end up hanging out and BBQ ing .
Sounds like a plan, an it seems like there are 3 things I need to do on my jeeps... 1. a rear main on my XJ, 2. the clutch slave on my YJ and 3. the leaf spring and shackles on said YJ :D I have a BBQ grill ready to go just need to set this thing up.:cheers2:
