I'm getting ready to install a new 360 V8 in my '76 Wagoneer, but the engine mount perches on the frame have four slots each.....which one am I supposed to put the engine mount stud into? Does it matter?

A photo may help t understand what you are dealing with.

The frame side bracket had 4 bolts holding it to the frame.

The engine side bracket had 2 bolts holding it to the engine (may be 3).

there should be two bolts either side of the rubber part, they do not line up. 2 go through the engine side, 2 through the frame side. The frame side bolts are on a 45 degree angle.

The 4 slotted holes take 2 bolts from the rubber part, the orientation and final line up will determine if this is top left, bottom right or the other way round. the slots allow you to move it around a little.

I hope I have that the right way round, i may be wrong of course as many parts are swapped before i ever see them.
