Well folks, I said I was going back to an XJ so that's what I did. Just a recap on my previous Jeeps...

My first XJ the day I sold it. 95' Sport 5 speed...

My second.... 87' Waggy XJ w/ factory 44 and HP non disco 30. Wish I kept this one...

And of course, my TJ I just recently sold....

Well after my TJ, I started looking for my next XJ. I knew I wanted a 97'+, so that's what I went after. While searching craigslist, I came across a 99' with 130k miles. Girl that owned it said it needed a radiator. All it really needed was a cap. Talked her down to $1600 and brought it home. Had some awesome seat covers and looked and smelled like an ash tray inside...

look at your bumpstops dude. There is no way you have 5 inches of uptravel. Between your bumpstops there is not way you have more then 2 inches. Yes your shock may show five inches but those bumps will not allow the shock to be fully used. Take another look man.
Thats what I meant. Just get rid of some of that sheet metal so you can take full advantage of your shock set-up now:laugh:. Below is how much surgery was required for me to get around 5" up

Yeah, I know. Think Top Bead can hook me up?
yea or someone closer to your way?? Youll have to measure how big of tube you need then go on the hunt..

pix of the lower end of the shock?

Looks good, but I doubt I cut that much. Only reason being is that I am happy with the little bit of up travel I do have. Later on I may do that.
Nice XJ! Keep up the good work!
I love the low and 35's thats awesome to see it actually done, most people think you have to have huge lifts on these things to get huge tires I love it and I think it compliments the tires, makes them look even bigger, nice work keep it up.
So when are you wheeling next? I got promoted at work so It will need to be planned in advanced. I would like to get down there very soon if possible

Thank you! Works way better than Jeeps that are lifted up to the moon.

i bet gravity is your friend, ive heard some people say there scared to drive over 70 because they feel "unsafe" well if you didnt have lego stacked suspension you might feel a little safer, I like it looks good, and now I know I can with my 3" lift and 32's or 33's cant wait.

You can easily do that. Trim and bumpstops.

Built my tire carrier off of my hoops. First I braced the hoops. Welded up a hub to a piece of pipe then braced it in. WALA! The floor supports most of the weight of the tire so there isn't much strength needed in the carrier itself.

I would have liked to put more angle to it but I don't think the rear passengers would be to comfy with a tire in their seat... :D
