Well folks, I said I was going back to an XJ so that's what I did. Just a recap on my previous Jeeps...

My first XJ the day I sold it. 95' Sport 5 speed...

My second.... 87' Waggy XJ w/ factory 44 and HP non disco 30. Wish I kept this one...

And of course, my TJ I just recently sold....

Well after my TJ, I started looking for my next XJ. I knew I wanted a 97'+, so that's what I went after. While searching craigslist, I came across a 99' with 130k miles. Girl that owned it said it needed a radiator. All it really needed was a cap. Talked her down to $1600 and brought it home. Had some awesome seat covers and looked and smelled like an ash tray inside...

Today I FINALLY ordered a set of Trail Gear shock hoops from Foothill Motorsports off of Pirate. Got them for a great price. They will match any TG price you can find.

Haha, I'm a little nervous because the only info I can get are pretty much just from pics. BUT I'm also not too worried about how $h!tty my cuts look because this isn't a DD. So I'll get a set of hoops in there some how :D.

Burned in some 1/8" plate...

Shock thru da flo...

Walla, outboarded shocks....

I'll brace it and paint it tomorrow. It really does ride sooooooo much better. One of the best mods I have done. At the moment I am running the shocks that came with my lift, which I THINK are 10 inch travel shocks.

I need to order a piece of DOM from Ruffstuff. The pipe I got is bigger, about 2". :(
Looks Good. Is it just the pics or do you only have an inch or so of up-travel?
hey post up some pix of the way you mounted it to the u bolt plates....

its gonna be cheaper for a piece of tube from a local shop DONT waste ur money for DOM or shipping. A piece of HREW will be fine for a brace just get a decent wall thickness.

The cylinder is at the top, and the shaft is at the bottom.

Correct, I have a little over 5 inches of uptravel.

Yeah, I know. Think Top Bead can hook me up?
look at your bumpstops dude. There is no way you have 5 inches of uptravel. Between your bumpstops there is not way you have more then 2 inches. Yes your shock may show five inches but those bumps will not allow the shock to be fully used. Take another look man.
I was saying in the shock. But, those bumpstops compress a great deal. My tire is maybe a 1/2" from the lip of the fender at the point that it won't go any further. I know what your saying though. It looks really close.
