Built a blingin' transfercase linkage out of 7/16" heims and some threaded stock. Had to flip the lever on the xfer case, cut it in half and put a 45 degree angle on it, and then welded it back together. Shifts a hell of a lot better and actually feels like it "clicks" into 4 hi and 4 low. Doesn't feel mushy anymore...
Very crafty. Nicely done man!

I have gone back and forth on the axle debate so many times with my rig. I've come to the conclusion that no matter what axles I run, I will be maxed out on tire size. With built stock axles I'd run 35s or 36s, with 44s maybe 38s, and with tons I'd run 40s or 42s. No matter what I'll be breaking stuff. So screw it, it doesn't really matter. I have a buddy who breaks countless parts with a front 44 and 38s, and another with a front 44 on 40s that I've never seen break. Both are v6 trucks with doublers. My point is that smart driving goes a long way. I too have a hard time justifying spending a substantial amount more just to run a 2" taller tire.

My biggest worry about my 30 has always been the ball joints. I've wrecked a hand full of shafts and U joints and that is always an easy fix. If I wrecked a pinion or a locker I'd probably just limp off the trail. Ball joints can be a real mess to fix when they come apart on the trail though. Luckily I haven't busted mine yet...knock on wood.
