I drove a 2dr rubi today, and let me say Im impressed! It was a soft top with Navigation and GPS, it also had power windows and keyless entry. Quiet Ride, thing I was most impressed with was the comfort, this thing rides great. I also was impressed with the low end Torque the 3.8L made. Overall I think everyone is going to be awestruck with the JK I wasnt sure if I would like one or not, but now I will own one for sure

How well do you think that motor can handle the extra weight of the Unlimited?

I dont know...what I drove was a decked out rubicon, and it seemed to pull it pretty good.
Did you play with the touch screen radio/nav system at all?

Any chance to put it in 4wd?

Did you get any goofy pictures of you waving out the window!?
How did you drive a 2 door today? They are not going into production until August. The 4 doors start production this month.
But there are some in existence already...
The 2dr JK Rubicon weights a littles less than a Grand Caravan, and the JK has been tuned for more low-end torque and is equipped with steeper gears.

BTW the Grand Caravan has a huge amount of power, especially off the line.

, the ones you see right now are pre-production models - quality tests on the production lines, marketing (showrooms, ads) and so on.
I got owned by a Grand Caravan on the highway a month ago. He mustve passed me at 90 up a hill...I guess us 4.0 guys are gonna be slower up the hills than the new 3.8's. Oh well I still like the 4.0 better for off road, although I bet the 3.8 will be fun on the street and in sand and stuff.

Understood. I was just trying to point out to toplessjeep that it's not impossible that barry1me drove one...

Im an engineer for automotive supplier, and I work nearby TNAP, I went out to lunch with a friend of mine the works for DCX and he let me take it for a quick spin.

I didnt get a chance to put it in 4wd or play much with the navigation, I was more amazed with the ride and feel of the vehicle then anything else.
Will a 6'3" guy have enough leg room. I crunch into my TJ.
What it auto or manual transmission? How was acceleration?

Thanks for sharing your ride with us!
OK, not that affects the ride much, but just because, what color was it?

You got to be kidding, right? Anybody knows that red color is much faster.

I dont think you will have a problem fitting into it.

It was the six speed manual, acceleration was decent, I didnt want to get on it to much because a DCX program manager was in the passenger seat. The thing I was suprised with is its size It seemed much bigger then the TJ rubicon. Not that this will matter for the 95% of jeepers but to fold the front window down is a bit of work. The plus side to this is the window frame is much stiffer and a more robust design then the TJ.

It was Black with a black Top and Tan interior.
