Doing a HP for LP D30 swap in my ZJ. Posting in XJ forum because the donor axles are from XJs. I had previously pulled a 92 HP XJ axle and the sway bar link mounts were thru bolts, T55 torx head bolt and a nut on the other side. Pulled a 97 XJ HP D30, and learned the hard way (broke a T55 torx bit off:surprise:), that there isn't a thru bolt at the sway bar link mount. Appears to be a stud mounting. Still the same Torx head on the stud and a nut on the other side though. Both driver and pax mounts are like this on the 97 axle. My question: What year did the XJ change over to a stud there instead of thru bolt? Or did I just find a weird one off?

As far as i know it was always a press in stud. My guess would be 91 if it was different in the earlier years.
