Recently I’ve been thinking of putting a large displacement v8 in my TJ. It might be a crazy idea however it’s something I really want to do. I’m thinking a 6.2 and as of right now I’m set on it I wanna know if it’s even possible first. However if anyone has any better idea I would like to hear it.

long as $$$$$$ is no issue not much that cannot be done. But it will need way more then just that 6.2 as well. Unless you are doing it all this will cost as much as a new jeep. Since you ask i am thinking you can not?

d35 wont last stock. trans issues since the short wheel base is a issue unless you plan to make it longer.

As of now money is in no way an issue I’m wanting something unique but not something that I gotta chop up I’m wanting to make my jeep look like it came factory with a hemi I do reckon this build will take a very long time but as long as it gets done.

Have you scoped out the inside of your frame? How much rust?

If you have an early TJ, then a 5.2L should be a plug-and-play swap, so long as you have the tranny and harnesses.

Another way of learning a lot without suffering frustration would be a budget stroker.

Having had the experience of trying to stuff a 4.7 V8 in, there is a mountain of electrical issues to deal with. The new Jeep computers use a different language than the older ECMs. I am pretty good with wiring, but I never could get the ECM to talk to me. Finally my son took pity on me and let me put a 5.3 in there instead. Another thing to consider is the hemi is a much wider engine than an LS. And if money is no object, how about an LS7 or LT1? Lots of bucks needed for that too

Will a 6.2 fit? If a 5.7 will then yes lol. But I’m assuming you mean a 6.2 Hellcat/hellcrate. 700hp requires more than just room under the hood for the block (although you do need room for the extra cooling that is required…TJs are pretty narrow after all). Can a stock TJ frame handle 700+hp?? That’s a bigger question

if a 318 is on your radar, perhaps consider a 360 crate from Mopar performance, as they take up the same space.

Fast Wranglers do exist though lol
