Hood mounting looks cool but it seems inconvenient if hood needs to be opened and laid against the windshield which is common. Or risk scraping hood when mounting, dismounting.

Found this 4xRAC thing that works nicely at the back and fits under a deck cover.

Additionally, being out in the elements is not great for the function of the jack if you ever need it.

I guess that depends on what elements it is in. Mine may get some dust from the Jeeps in front of me, but that's about it.

Looking for ideas to mount my 60" inside or on my XJ, any ideas? had to buy it, picked it up for $25

I ran mine on the hood for a number of years. 1/2" threaded rod, a couple nuts, washers, and spacers through the front hood hinge mount. It worked great and was easy to access. My Jeep lives in the garage so I never had issues with it sitting out in the weather.

Currently I have it mounted to the harness bar on my cage. Not easy to get out now (I have lots of stuff packaged in there), but I always have it when/if needed.
