Thanks for any recommendation. This soley is about $ for the time being. I have a 2001 TJ with a brand new clutch, recently my skid plate came off, and I have not been drivng it until it gets put back on. However I did notice that now my second gear will not engage (grinds) sometimes it stays in. Maybe when plate came off and the brief time that I drove it damage it. Jeep 2001 TJ does need the support of the skid plate to support transmission. My the big question is. MY previous Jeep 2000 that I had for 21 years but lost it due to accident still had a working glutch and transmission.. all good. So on that I do believe I'm pretty good and easy with manual driving.
Can I drive without using the second gear ... this jeep is only a 4 cylinder I have tried and barley got up the rpms above 2500 BUT DOES IT DAMAGE ANYTHING. I'm not on the highway small town back roads. I understand maybe gas and a little ware & tear but for now... until I can afford 2000$ or more for labour any judgment on this
