Hello from Tennessee, I have recently come into possession of a 1987 Mitsubishi Jeep, Model J53. The jeep is in excellent condition and I've enjoyed driving it for the past few days. I do need some thoughts concerning the seating. I am 6’ 1” and my legs are rather cramped. Are there any options for moving the seat back? Presently, it is back as far as it will go which means it's up against the wheel well. Does anyone know of any custom options or fabricating options I could look into? Thanks?

Nice looking J53. What engine is in it?
It's a 4DR6 with about 57000 miles on it.
Parts book shows the J25 military model had an adjustable driver's seat. I've never see it, though (not that I've had much occasion to see any of these Jeeps) and can't find any online. There are aftermarket sliders around but given that you're already hitting the wheel well you might need a different seat.

Thanks for your response. I'll keep looking.
The Mitsubishi is based on the CJ3B so try the CJ3B info pages.CJ3B.info is The CJ3B Page

A common trick on CJs all the way to CJ5 is to notch the rear wheel well to get the seat back a few more inches.
