On my lange, the cross bar (side to side) is 60" and the long bar (front to back) 43". Then the hooks are set in from the ends of the bars about 1"

These measurements are approx as its hard to get an exact measurement of the bars without taking the foam pads off...plus its hanging on my ceiling :)

The Lange quick disconnect kit is also very nice to have as you don't need to mess with any Torx nonsense to free the top. Mine has 4 little knobs that loosen clamps that hold the top down to the tub. Between the Lange hoist and the quick disconnect setup, I can remove the whole thing in about 3 minutes, including securing it to the ceiling.
Save your money and pickup 6 Eyebolts, 6 Washers, 6 Wingnuts and voila, you have yourself a tool-less hardtop removal setup. The wingnuts will catch in the channel below (so you dont have to hold them to tighten) and you can turn the eyebolts by hand.

If you emulate the Lange, you will need additional eyebolts on the ceiling for some tie down attachments if you plan to store it lifted (like me). If not the top will want to spin (and with tie downs you will have a safety backup).

I just put a set of 4 eyebolts on the ceiling in a square so i could run 2 tie wraps from front to back.

Heres the winch I bought separately if you need one:
2000 Lb. Capacity Geared Winch

You can take that handle off, tighten an electric drill around the handle's bolt post(as though its a bit) and voila, power winch for cheap (I got mine for $20 in store).

It was $150 all in for my Lange setup...pricing out materials to build was cheaper, but not by a ton... the time savings made up the difference for me.

cadeucsb that is the exact hoist I got. A family member owed me for some work I did for them and that is what I got from them.
Lizardking31 The cost of mine will be almost nil the material is left over from another Job I think the only thing I will have to buy is some cable.
I believe I will get started in the AM I have about caught up on the other projects for the moment.
cool, definitely do the power drill trick if you have one...it winds up so sloooooowwww. When loading the cable for the first it takes forever since you have to load the whole 25ft cable...the drill makes it do-able and still not too fast.
