Hello all,

I am trying to adjust some new half doors i picked up and the door/mirror hinge has a smaller torx. 25 will not fit and a 20 is loose. it is much smaller than the standard 40 for the windshield and lower hinge.

Any idea,, is this some aftermarket metric crap??

Might be the same size as the dash torx, T27. A T25 may/will strip it out IF its a 27. Also, those are just the side mirror base torx bolts, the T40s are underneath for the hinge.

Also, apply a few seconds of heat to each torx before you loosen them. It makes all the difference.

I would recommend you buy these:

And drive them with an impact screwdriver. I got all my Torx out that way. 1 did require the air impact wrench but it did come out and those bits handled it well.

I would guess your dealing with a T25 with paint in it and you will have to pound it in.
I have the impact torx and agree that is the only way to get any of them out. As long as there is not crazy chinese special torx size I will go back to the 25 and try to work it in. Must be the paint caked in there.

Found my problem, The craftman torx socket would not fit. THe Kobalt torx driver i have would. Just could not get enough muscle into it.

I ended up welding a bolt to the torx bolt and taking it off that way and then threw the craftman set in the trash.

That is officially the last craftman tool i buy, they all seam to have turned to junk
