Gas Shortage VS. Electrifying Jeeps- Is there a future where Jeeps will be retrofitte

Jeep Fam.....Are we temporarily here again? REALLY? Or, is the writing on the wall, a sign of things to come?

Are we truly past peak oil? Is an infrastructure hack really so easy to do, and a ransom of 5 mil in order to turn things back on and reverse the hack.

Are we as a nation so naive to think this wont happen again? Its concerning and makes me think, Is this the beginning of the end of fossil fuel daily drivers?

Recently noticing the next fuel fear factor. What about you? Have you been inconvienenced by the long gas lines and shopping bags on many gas pump nozzles?

Science fiction at the movies is swiftly become fuel hard facts. Fuel motivates and mobilizes all of us.

Due to the gas stortage related to the recent pipeline hack. I have been uncomfortable in reminiscing about the 70's, 80's, 90's and even 2000's gas shortages and their effect on how we all work, travel, grocery shop, visit relatives and more.

Our love affair with gas and diesel may be coming to an end sooner, rather than later?

Like covid and the pandemic, this recent fuel supply interuption is the energy equivelent of a health pandemic for vehicles. In fact, I am remembering past multiple gas shortages and price hikes equating to long lines at the pumps and it has not only me but many nationwide, nervous and concerned wondering, whats next?

So, I started this post to hear what you y'all feel about all this and get your feedback and opinions.

A year or so ago, I started an old project of learning about electric motor bicycle and vehicle retrofit kits.

I had planned to eventiually start gathering schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts to do a alternative transportation diy bicycle and singletrack trailer build using 2nd a sturdy hand bike and mid drive motorwith a LIPO4 BATTERY.

I also, have continued to gather and save information for converting a vehicle like the jeep Grand Cherokee into a hybrid or full EV.

So, i said all that in order to make a point which is, NOW is the time to start the discussion of considering employing EV technology into our current vehiles. Now, Im not saying we have to do this overnight but, we ALL need to, AT THE VERY LEAST, at least consider the possibility of a hybrid or full EV future with discussions on the electrification of our current vehicles?

We should be asking these deeper questions, the future stops for no one, my question is, are we ready?

Also, that's a Youtube video. And as someone in this very thread told you, they're for entertainment purposes only. So he did not say any of those things.

I could go find the full length speech elsewhere, but I'm not going to do that because because.
I keep forgetting just like joe......

Nothing new, but an interesting summary of Toyota's objectives.

Toyota CEO Had Enough | HUGE NEWS! - YouTube

"Support American values, buy a Toyota."

All Prius driver heads would simultaneously explode if they adopted that slogan.

What a crazy thing to think, especially here in Michigan. But I do think it. I would like to be proud of American cars. And there is (was?) a lot to be proud of. Overall - considering all classes of vehicle combined - the US does make the best vehicles in the world.

But I am just ashamed.

Do you suppose that when "The Big Three" are done lying about EV capabilities, they'll give back all the money?

That's crazy. But it is a dealership, and everything they sell is outrageously overpriced.
Your right about the dealer prices they are out of this world so i found a coupon code for the manufacturer of the battery............ enter promo code M O R O N for a 10% discount..... that's M O R O N for a 10% discount.

I wonder how many Pentastar cams I could buy with $29k?

The warranty on that battery is 8 years/100k miles. You're definitely within the miles. And as much flack a California gets, and rightfully so, the warranty would be 10 years 150k. Can't tell from the invoice what year it is, but if it's dead that just sucks.

Yeah, and those straight 6 XJ's are getting close to 400k miles.
During that cash for clunkers BS, the techs had a hard time
killing those engines.

They never could have imagined we would vote on computers supplied by our principal adversary.

I know it's hard to believe sometimes, but most Americans still oppose socialism. That's why they had to change the electoral system in Alaska, to ensure that only socialists could win. 90% vote Republican in Alaska, yet they still end up with a socialist.

Politics has become pop-culture. More people are devoting their time to the big outlets that focus on politics. I myself just got banned for the last time on Facebook for making a non controversial fact statement, never got on any other social media site. So I decided to go back to what I use to do… hang out on the Jeep forums. I miss the good ol days of the internet when forums and blogs was all we had.

Very disappointing news from Toyota today. This is not a "resignation". This is all because Toyoda wouldn't toe the WEF line.

Lexus chief to take over Toyota as founder’s grandson steps down – One America News Network (oann.com)

That insistence on hybrids and hydrogen also prompted criticism from investors and environmental activists who once widely praised Toyota’s technology and emissions record.

“No doubt Mr. Toyoda has been a competent CEO, but the whole auto sector needs to make disruptive change and Toyota has been lagging in this in our view, so this could be chance for a fresh start,” said Anders Schelde, chief investment officer of Danish pension fund AkademikerPension, which has repeatedly pressed Toyota to accelerate its shift to electric vehicles.
I had a lot of hope in Toyota going their own way and showing up the rest of the automakers and the rest of the world. That is exactly what would have happened, and Klaus wasn't going to have any of that.

If you think you will have a choice, you are mistaken.

And you should read up on Anders Shelde and AkademikerPension. This is a very wealthy public union pension that openly invests/divests based on social or "ethical" (their definition) issues. They have a hard stance against oil. They divested in oil in 2020 - ya know, when it was cheap and any investor with their clients' best interests in mind would have invested.

Do you recall from November the Department of Labor's removal of Trump's rules requiring that investors act in the best financial interest of their client, and not ESG (Environmental and Social Governance)? It only becomes more apparent why Trump is a deeply hated man.

Where is your money? These globalist people are literally stealing it from you. Through this and through inflation.

Where are the Democrats? Running interference. Because this is what they want. They are not Democrats, they are Communists.
