Front Driveshaft issue

I needed to change my Ujoints in front drive shaft. I took it out and replaced them. No issues. When I put it back in. The same way it was taken out and took for a drive. The RPMs would go way high and then slam into gears? I couldn’t see why it was doing it now and not before I took it off to begin with? So I took it back out ? It’s a 2006 LJ Thanks
