Connecting all Oahu Jeepers....

Hey Everyone,

I am working on trying to get ALL of the Jeep community on Oahu together to help organize who is here and who isn't as well as for everyone to share information to help with those PCSing to the island...there are lots of considerations and requirements about bringing a Jeep to Oahu that has been modified to include Reconstruction Permit tags prior to passing vehicle safety for registration. Also, there are plenty of places to wheel but you have to know where they are. By doing what I am doing now, the goal is to get everyone linked up so that you dont have to recreate the wheel!

4x4 Modifications Dealers Available in Hawaii ???

I too will be PCSing to Hawaii (Schofield Barracks) in June 2013. I recently placed an order for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited MOAB Edition. The vehicle should be delivered soon but I am currently overseas so any modifications would have to be done when I take leave prior to PCSing. I simply want to know if modifications such as a 4' lift and 35' tires could be done in Hawaii or should be done in Hawaii. Should II simple have the modifications done prior to shipping? I was told that for such a modification, additional tweaks would have to be done such as spacers and some other things to avoid rubbing.

What 4x4 dealers are there in Honolulu if any or will I have to ship my vehicle to one of the other islands to have the modifications done?

Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Rob
