Here are some pics of the project on the TJ. The YJ specific parts will bring it closer to a CJ hopefully. If you have specific needs or find a solution, post up here, I'll keep an eye.
One thing I must mention, CJ;s have different frame widths that change at least once between '72 and (Mr. Adams year I think) '77. We found this out making gas tanks. LOL
Ok, this pic shows the top and front on a TJ, the YJ "front" is two files/pieces to eliminate the bend and need for a big press brake.
This pic shows the top only using stock bolt hole pattern. I did slot these holes but not enough to cover TJ to YJ, just enough to cover bent frames. Here will be the big issue for the CJ, what is the bolt pattern??
Here you can see the curve, the curve on the two piece is more usable as you can angle to your taste:
The shackles are 1" A36/mild plate
Note plate at back of shackle, it is right in line with the frame (of a TJ), we will need to address this too. I suppose it is ok to be out of line of frame, it just seemed the right spot to place.
Weld up inside before capping:
The weld between bottom and front plate was a little custom, I had to trim it a little and fold it into place (beat it to fit).
The bottom file posted has a relief cut in on driver side to clear the steering box, dunno if CJ's are going to need it, or perhaps a deeper relief.
Once fit, weld it up.......
I like the ground finish, so I spent some time grinding down the welds
I included the specs on the stinger hoop, any shape will work really, or no stinger at all.
The files for the light bar are made to fit around a Warn XD9000i, can be modified to fit any winch. The idea is you can fit random or single bar lights that adjust together by loosening side bolts and rotating whole bar
